Amazing! I love it!
Awesome thank your video really helped me out
OMG I am LUSTING for that stuff! Both Dave and Emily have been shared on my FB page. I hope you do the giveaway but either way, I'm glad to see your family and know about this product.
Yes! Neat stuff! I use it to 'weather' plastic model kit car seats & dashes!
That’s a great idea!
I was actually disappointed in this brand of crackle to tell you the truth the other brand is sooo much better!
So no podge at all ? Thank you for your tutorial.🙏🌹❤
Thank u for this 🙏
Thank you for the video
will metallic paint on for top coat work?
Is the crackle medium still wet when you applied the top color?
???? But when did you add the crackle ? You only said you painted the page black then
added yellow paint on top.
I shit you not, your singing in the back ground "This is the greatest thing in the wooorld" truly made me laugh out loud. The video was very helpful of course but you truly did make it fun with the singing. Thank you kindly for sharing. Please keep safe and take care. :)
Aw thank you so much!!! CZcams has been so strict with music and singing and all it makes it harder to do now but I’m happy you appreciated it!!! Art
And all makes me happy!!!! Be safe as well!!!
HI Kelly Your daughter looks very happy with her boyfriend. Also I did't know that Dave did reviews I shared both their You tube videos on my face book page Keep up your lovely videos
Thank you.
Hi Kelly I LOVE FolkArt Crackle Medium...I just finish my Little Bottle I've had for Years...Would you believe it came from QVC yrs ago...Seriously... I didn't even know it came in a Bigger Bottle, Dah...I shared Emily Jo's Video Last Night & Just got done sharing Dave's Reviews...Looks like I am going to be doing some Binge Watching or His Videos ;) TYFS LYBM XOXOXOXOXO
Nice. Thank you.
This is amazing! Thank you...I have a question. How can I make fine cracks?
You would use a brush and brush over again so the cracks are smaller. Practice on a piece of paper first.
Does it chip off
Very nice cracks😅 thank you for sharing. Can I use any acrylic paint or folkart?
Hi. Yes you can.
Omg you’re adorable! Which is funny I’d say that bc id normally never say that about myself yet your personality reminds me a lot of ME! haha the little impromptu song, especially, is totally something I’d do in this scenario...same words & all lol great minds, ya know what they say....☺️
yes we do!!!!!!
Can you use a heat gun to speed up the drying process for either crackle or the top cop
do not concentrate the heat on it= hairdryer would work better
My crackle seems to just smear off when I brush on my top coat.
I cannot get cracks! I get like a eggshell effect! Ive tried thin layers. I've tried thick layers. Nothing I do works. It's making me so mad!
I may be wrong, but it seems that the fewer strokes you do when painting your top coat color, the better the results. Cover it as much as you like, just limit the back and forth strokes when using your main color (top color).
hiii i tried folkart crackle medium, but cudnt see crackle on.
how to apply crackle that u didnt show in this video. want to know the technique. can u pls tell
Mine crackled, but not as great as I had hoped so when most of it was dry, I used a paper towel roll and just scraped it in random places almost like using a sand paper (using edge of roll) and that scraped off some paint so I could see the underlying color. I'm wondering if I maybe didn't let my undercoat color dry as good as it should have before applying the crackle medium. ?? It seemed to crackle the underlying color more than the top so I really couldn't see much of the undercoat until I did that chipping/sanding with the paper towel roll. (I used the roll because it was the first thing I saw and grabbed it..lol weird I know)
freakin amazing! Do you think it would work on plastic? Thanks Kel !!
uploading a vid for u right now
Can you use metallic paint for the second coat that goes on top of the crackle medium?
Yes!
🎵 “This is the greatest stuff in the worlllld, look at the crackle, look at the craaaackle” 😂✊🏼
YAaaaaaaas!!!!!!
I did watch a few of your husbands reviews, got to go see Emily's boyfriend do her makeup. Crackles cool
Ok, I have tried to use glue and that didn't work so I went and bought this stuff and it didn't work, whyyyyy? I used an enamel top coat at first, and when it didn't work I bought Artist's Loft Flow Acrylic, and nothing is working :( any suggestions? I am painting on glass, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference since the paint is still the paint no matter the material it is on.
I think you have to use it with chalk paint. That's what I use it with and it always works.
Use water based paints. Emulsion gives good results..that's what I use in UK
I wonder if this can be used over spray paint?
I can’t think why it wouldn’t.
I found your video after a failed test trying to use this product. I was wondering if you know whether this only works with acrylic paints or does it also work with interior latex paint as well?
i believe--latex is like acrylic--you can get a small can from homedepot or if you have extra cans and see if it works--i say yes--as long as it is not oil based and you follow directions on bottle!! good luck id love to see what you do
@@knittingandthings Thanks for the info and advice! I’ll be making another test piece to try again today. I’m finishing a tray-top farmhouse occasional table with a matte black on off-white crackle. Going for a kind of distressed/aged thing. Are you on Instagram or FB?
oh was that nice Kelly - i will have my daughter go to Emily's channel to subscribe - she lives for make-up : )
I love your song!!! 😂😂😂🙏🙏🙏
i love to sing lolol
Oh dear God in heaven, I must have this!!!!!!!!!
Can I use white base and white top coat contrast?
Unfortunately it wouldn’t show up but try it. You might like the look !’
How thick should you brush on, of the crackle stuff?
Medium thick but the trick is don’t brush back and forth a lot or it will lessen crackle
It looks so easy but I'm having a very hard time getting it to crackle. I'm trying to crackle dollhouse furniture. I painted the item, let it dry; painted the crackle over it, let it dry; then came back with a different color paint, and no crackle. I've done it several times and no crackle. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Ok. Are you painting one way and not back and forth over and over? I will do a video this week and see if we can figure out y it’s not crackling for you. Don’t give up!!!!!
@knittingandthings Since I've tried several times, yes, I did paint paint back and forth 3 different times. Once I painted one way and once I dabbed the crackle on. Thanks for your response! Looking forward to your video!
Gloss is not an additive substance. Glossy in normal. Matte is a substance added to less-than-glossy paints, so they do need to be well mixed.
Will this crackle work over oil based paint?
As long as the oil paint is dry
How long does the crackle medium take to dry?
Hi!! About 15-30 minutes depending on the temp in the room. Its alot of fun!!!
Your daughter is adorable! I shared them both on my Facebook.....and YES PLEASE do a giveaway with this awesome crackle stuff! I got a box a a thrift store a while back with some half used paints and stuff inside, an I got 2 little bottles one says "crackle step 1, and the other says crackle step 2" buts that all they say nothing else at all, no directions , or brand names to google, nothing.....so??? Lol
Amber Hoffman currie hi quick question ? what varnish or top coat can be used on this crackled layer?
I followed your instructions exactly and had no crackle at all. I am painting on dolls and started with a layer of black acrylic then generously applied the FolkArt Crackle Medium (Plaid) then while wet applied my top coat. Any ideas why it didn't work?
A Google User hi!! No the crackle must be dry all the way before you add your last color. Try that then it will crackle. Any other questions just adk
@@knittingandthings ty for great video! How long should I let it dry? To the feel? Or better by a certain amount of time? Ty!!!
Lilian Becerra off Hand I don’t kno. I usually wait until it’s a little tacky but please read the bottle. It might have better instructions. U will love the outcome
AWESOME VIDEO MY FRIEND A GREAT BIG THUMBS-UP ALWAYS TO ALL MY SUBSCRIBERS👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
So here's a question... you've applied the top coat in straight lines with your brush. What if you were painting the top coat using curved strokes? Would the cracks then appear in a similar curved pattern?
Yes they would. U really could be creative with it
I tried this on rocks and it did not work
I’m going to try it and see. Have u ever tried white glue or mod podge for crackle? What did it do on the rock?
doesn't work
Doesn’t work!!!! Any way!!!! Terrible quality product
Aw why do u say that what happened when you used it
@@knittingandthings because zero cracks I got. Nothing. No one. This is why
I’m sorry to hear that
