      I may be wrong, but it seems that the fewer strokes you do when painting your top coat color, the better the results. Cover it as much as you like, just limit the back and forth strokes when using your main color (top color).

      @laurieclarkson9180 Před 4 lety

      Mine crackled, but not as great as I had hoped so when most of it was dry, I used a paper towel roll and just scraped it in random places almost like using a sand paper (using edge of roll) and that scraped off some paint so I could see the underlying color. I'm wondering if I maybe didn't let my undercoat color dry as good as it should have before applying the crackle medium. ?? It seemed to crackle the underlying color more than the top so I really couldn't see much of the undercoat until I did that chipping/sanding with the paper towel roll. (I used the roll because it was the first thing I saw and grabbed it..lol weird I know)

    Ok, I have tried to use glue and that didn't work so I went and bought this stuff and it didn't work, whyyyyy? I used an enamel top coat at first, and when it didn't work I bought Artist's Loft Flow Acrylic, and nothing is working :( any suggestions? I am painting on glass, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference since the paint is still the paint no matter the material it is on.

      i believe--latex is like acrylic--you can get a small can from homedepot or if you have extra cans and see if it works--i say yes--as long as it is not oil based and you follow directions on bottle!! good luck id love to see what you do

    It looks so easy but I'm having a very hard time getting it to crackle. I'm trying to crackle dollhouse furniture. I painted the item, let it dry; painted the crackle over it, let it dry; then came back with a different color paint, and no crackle. I've done it several times and no crackle. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

    • @knittingandthings
      @knittingandthings  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Ok. Are you painting one way and not back and forth over and over? I will do a video this week and see if we can figure out y it’s not crackling for you. Don’t give up!!!!!

    • @donnagilliland7404
      @donnagilliland7404 Před 3 měsíci

      @knittingandthings Since I've tried several times, yes, I did paint paint back and forth 3 different times. Once I painted one way and once I dabbed the crackle on. Thanks for your response! Looking forward to your video!

    Gloss is not an additive substance. Glossy in normal. Matte is a substance added to less-than-glossy paints, so they do need to be well mixed.
