Zoomers these days are forgetting that Doublelift was well known as the brainless guy on all his teams. He was most famous for getting caught out doing something stupid (sidelane farming usually) 40 minutes into the game, or not using flash and losing the game. And nothing has changed as far as his takes and "logic" has gone.

Don't forget the time he TPed back to lane as Ashe and forgot to buy his BF sword when he was on TL. Then on 100T he made that baron call that lost them the game.
Him fucking up doesn't change the fact that he literally pulled up footage of his team doing a similar thing a year ago. It's silly to say the stuff that he did and you kind of have to be big fans of there's in order to see it any other way. The ego involved just won't allow them to admit that a line was crossed hence why people are flaming them. Only people heavily attached to them still happy insult invest in their tasks. I try to give them watches now and again to be open minded but Monte does say things that are wrong and not do a good job of admitting it.
He is also the only carry in LoL history that needed literally all 4 of his teammates to pick, build and play around supporting him in order to be able to carry. Thoorin himself downplays this fact all the time when he praises him as a "great adc" which is pissing me off :D
The league subreddit's willingness to misrepresent arguments to make them simple enough to dunk on in their circlejerk is crazy. Happened with the inspired interview and now this incident.

Honestly, Reddit is a complete cesspool, especially the League subreddit. The upvote/downvote points system makes it near impossible to have a good conversation with people and 99% of people posting don't have the know-how or willingness to post and comment in good faith with each other. It's like the comparison of Warcraft 3(Older competitive games) to League(Modern competitive games) and peoples unwillingness to discuss the respective game in a good way. It makes me pretty sad to know what we have lost while almost everyone else out there is blissfully unaware.

This whole thing snowballed quite a lot, but I think the key factor is that people don't know the meaning of "swap" and I'm not speaking just about league of legends. People can predict the Sion dive lvl 1, sure, but an ACTUAL lane swap... idk man, specially through river and not through lane like we did 10 years ago. Also everyone is speaking like NIP vs FPX game was the f'ing superbowl, everyone watched it, and laneswaps are now super predictable... yeah sure everyone watched it lol. NIP vs FPX is the second least watched playoff match only behind WE vs. OMG, but yeah suddenly everyone is an expert on lane swaps because they watched NIP vs FPX xdd sure
It's insane too because if even if we assume everyone means sion dive when they say swap, BDS would have defended their BLUE side jungle. It's that simple. That's montes entire point. The move we've seen the last 2 years is a 4 man bot side invade into a dive. Riot patched out lane swaps by making the swapping team always lose tower faster. It's hilarious to see how little the community remember patch notes or strategies that aren't 5v5 front to back. If BDS was 4 man invaded by G2 like they and T1 and 100T had done before they would've lost the entire game at level 1 without hyperbole. They would've had bot lane in the wrong place so they couldn't win the level 1 they were supposed to smash.

Monte does have an interesting response to that in his most recent video explaining his rationale. He talks about how even if you knew it was just a lane swap, there is still some curiosity as to why BDS would choose specifically to send their team all towards the top side jungle

Why are people confusing a lvl 1 sion cheese, of which there are many but most involve a jungle invade / death / tele to the correct lane and a lane swap which is completely agnostic of Sion but can include him? I'm a gold player and understand these concepts. If nothing else I think a leak was possible but I think its far more likely they saw the lane swap the day before, figured there would be an invade (game 1s are usually spicy) and committed to defending it.
You gotta remember that half the population is below the median IQ.

Who cares about Doublelift here, he has no intellectual intrigue, and has a proven terrible memory. Monte was someone who was regarded to be of character and intellectually honesty, for him to have such allegation, and to be so wrong yet so confident, should discredit him in two ways going forward. One, he is no longer the arbiter of lane swap meta he once thought of himself as, and two, he isn't someone you can expect a reasonable charitable take from if he's talking about a person or team he does not like, in this instance Adam and BDS. Making this video more so about Doublelift loses me, as it just doesn't matter at all.
It's almost as if Thorin and IWillDominate are using Doublelift as a convenient means to deflect from the fact Monte was the one to be upset at here, they are essentially trying to detract as much blame and critique at the dumbass that is Doublelift, in order to sneak their friend to safety through the burning castles tunnels.

imo, leaking scrims isnt cheating. the team chooses to scrim the strategy against an opposing team. expecting it to be a secret is dumb.
I don't think the implication is that G2 expected the strat to be completely secret and unknown. To me it's more a comment on how lame the other teams in the league are. They can't beat G2 by themselves, so they have to band together and use shady tactics to even get a chance at beating them (and then still lose). I agree that no one should expect a practice against an external competitor to be secret, but, sharing the information and trying to abuse the information once it is shared with you is just pretty lame from my perspective as a fan, viewer, and ruins the competitive spirit of the game.

I don’t think it’s cheating either. It’s neither illegal nor against the rules of the LEC so by extension it can’t really be considered cheating. That said I think most people believe there is an expected level of secrecy and so leaking information is a good way to ensure you don’t get to scrim a certain team again
