He sounds more Agnostic than Atheist. But I feel like he's on the right path. He just needs to be taught about who God is. Right now he has no foundation but he sounds like he's open to learn. That openness is how God saves. That open heart is more willing to surrender than the nonbelieving hardened heart. I'll be praying for his salvation!

I'm thankful for this channel man. I'm encouraged by the way you interact with folks and give them space to talk and respectfully and lovingly deliver the gospel. Oftentimes I conjure up a scenario before I even speak with someone and use that image as a justification to avoid the conversation all together. Seeing you calmly speak to these folks and have respect for them makes me want to be obedient in faith and have those conversations.

im going to be honest Preston, I feel like especially towards the end you became really preachy. for nonbelievers or agnostics like this guy, it can turn them off to what you are saying. what I appreciate about your other videos, is that you were more conversational and had an ongoing dialogue vs like now where you asked about him, heard just a bit about him and then talked the rest of it. I feel if it was more conversational, you could plant little seeds where he needed them, like answering questions/responding to direct issues or doubts etc. Especially towards the end where you began full on preaching, he probably started zoning out and became disconnected which resulted in him having no interest,no further questions. I think he had a lot more to say but you kind of shut him down so he didn't engage further. All love and support to these videos, you are gifted in this area. I have watched every single one & I just wanted to give some constructive criticism!

I think the fact that this guy is saying he doesn’t subscribe to any God because he humbly feels that he doesn’t know all the answers changed the tone of the conversation and placed Preston a bit out of his comfort zone. We’re used to coming across the opposite. Also I can see how he can literally see God already actively working in this mans life and wanted to give him “the gospel” vs dialogue. Sometimes we can’t be bent on following textbook strategies when engaging with different individuals
In which the Holy Spirit desires to minister to differently . I believe Preston said exactly what God wanted him to say even though he probably might have done it differently in his own will.

The moral standard comes from our Christian God but it's not "believe what you want." I think he is referring to free will to CHOOSE what you want. And that is left up to each human being. His ability to be open and actually admit he doesn't have the answers, is an honesty missing with the other convos. I appreciate it. We act like we know everything when we are trying to defend something we want to believe or not believe in but when you begin spitting facts, instead of saying, hmm, I don't know where I stand on this topic, most people choose to dance around the topic and remain combative. Rebellious spirit. I liked his reaction and response. Gives room for growth.

    @cortezrange5950 Před 3 lety

For many people how you want to be treated is a focal point because we have the obvious
Evidence of social interaction with another human being
That would tell anyone if they want to
Change the outcome that they won't
    Enjoy another person's
Involvement with them then they have two options either fix the pattern of their behavior or try to see the other person from their own opinion
To be involved at the moment with you
But this is a hard lesson to learn
Because every person that walks on this Earth has their own rules of conduct
That anyone wishes it could be in a moment
The difference is being a person of knowledge to recognize your own opinion from another person to know that you can disagree with a person
But not leave a discussion as enemies with each other
    The difference is with religion
People in faith sometimes or many times can influence public law that other people have to follow
And as a free-thinking Society group of people, we should have a
fair law system to many different groups of people
But not towards people that can have a certain level of a title to be above anyone else

Feelings of personal truth are not going to be the same for every person that walks on this Earth
The only thing as a society of people that we can do is to agree on the standard that we want to be involved in a situation
That would be between two people or more
To not come to personal harm by another person
Even though it might not be a criminal case to be in a court of law
In a situation even then we still have the personal right to be in a conversation or not to be in a conversation with someone else
These are the only choices that we have in society of being around groups of people unless an individual takes an action that an individual could be in a court of law
    Against another person

Certain actions have certain consequences for people
But anyone can Define their own conduct any way they want to
What matters is the outcome of the reality of a group of people to see another human being or the consequences of that human being to suffer from their own reactions
To have a different change of conduct into a community if that person wishes it to be a change to their own self

So what I'm saying is if a person gives another person the oK or the right
To be physical in the way towards another person's body that they find pleasing
Then it's that right of that person's body that is getting touched by another person
To say yes or no to another person
But I know this life it can be messed up how people can see my sentences or how people can act at the moment to change their own minds

How I explain Jesus as being real is telling people my story. I asked God to use me...I have allowed Him to work in my life. When He showed up he always showed out which lead to miraculous happenings. When people hear my stories and see into my life they try to imitate my blessings/favor and often fail. Finally they come back to me, as God would have it asking how I did it and all I say to them is TRY HIM...what can you lose. All Glory belongs to God! Try Him for yourself. Folks, let your life speak by sharing your testimonies. Let God use you. Stop working out your own "blessings".

Preston, I really appreciate the way you go about these conversations as the Bible instructs: in love, truth, gentleness and respect. With that said Preston, I just want to encourage you to examine the gospel as preached in scripture, which is found in John 5:24, Romans 3:23-24, Romans 6:23, Acts 16:30-31, Ephesians 2:8-9, and 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. ALL of these passages have a common formula: FAITH (Trust) in Jesus. What does that mean? We trust that Jesus' sacrifice, burial, and resurrection provided forgiveness for our sins and righteousness before God. You already know this. But the yeast of the pharisees that has crept into your gospel presentation is that you must "turn from your sins PLUS believe in Jesus." You can find no such passage where the Gospel is preached that prescribes that.
We as Christians SHOULD turn from our sins after becoming empowered by the Holy Spirit after being saved, but to put that up as a requirement FOR salvation is actually a false Gospel that cannot save, for it involves atonement on the part of man as well as adding the blood of Jesus. No, my dear brother, the work of Jesus alone was sufficient! Let us not get confused between the free GIFT of salvation and the heavy COST of discipleship. I take it that you are a fan of Apologia studios because a lot of the logical arguments I hear from Jeff I hear from you as well. They also have fallen into this error and I just love you and don't want you to have it passed to your ministry as well.
God bless you richly in Christ Jesus my friend.

    It doesn't matter how many
    Scriptures of versus
That a person can know about their faith to say to another person
It's more about if you can prove your statement of the claim of your sentences to say to another person
Because after all a group of scientists can't prove or disprove what you can be saying
From a long passing of time
That anyone could read in a book
In short, details have to match up
To actual reality to prove the claim of a certain person's words towards another person
And I'm not saying that an entity didn't take the shape of mankind to be involved with mankind
It's just no evidence that can be tested or examined in present day
To show that a person can walk on water or rise from the dead
Or feed a group of people from a piece of bread that wouldn't feed the needy of people around a person
All I'm saying is great claims need great evidence to go with the sentences that people can speak about that moment
That any individual person wouldn't think otherwise
To have different opinions of factors
To not stare at the obvious examples
To be evidence of testing or a person site to be represented by a proven claim of other people that would test them on their words or their senses to hold the fruit of truth to the claim that they can be speaking or testifying to

There is subordination within the Trinity. Scripture shows that the Holy Spirit is subordinate to the Father and the Son, and the Son is subordinate to the Father. This is an internal relationship and does not deny the deity of any Person of the Trinity. This is simply an area which our finite minds cannot understand concerning the infinite God. Concerning the Son see Luke 22:42, John 5:36, John 20:21, and 1 John 4:14. Concerning the Holy Spirit see John 14:16, 14:26, 15:26, 16:7, and especially John 16:13-14.
      6) The individual members of the Trinity have different tasks. The Father is the ultimate source or cause of the universe (1 Corinthians 8:6; Revelation 4:11); divine revelation (Revelation 1:1); salvation (John 3:16-17); and Jesus' human works (John 5:17; 14:10). The Father initiates all of these things.
The Son is the agent through whom the Father does the following works: the creation and maintenance of the universe (1 Corinthians 8:6; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17); divine revelation (John 1:1, 16:12-15; Matthew 11:27; Revelation 1:1); and salvation (2 Corinthians 5:19; Matthew 1:21; John 4:42). The Father does all these things through the Son, who functions as His agent.
The Holy Spirit is the means by whom the Father does the following works: creation and maintenance of the universe (Genesis 1:2; Job 26:13; Psalm 104:30); divine revelation (John 16:12-15; Ephesians 3:5; 2 Peter 1:21); salvation (John 3:6; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:2); and Jesus' works (Isaiah 61:1; Acts 10:38). Thus, the Father does all these things by the power of the Holy Spirit.
      www.gotquestions.org/Trinity-Bible.html
Jesus said your sins would not be forgiven if you did not believe He was God.
John 8:19 So they were saying to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father; if you knew Me, you would know My Father also.”
24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
God is the first and the last.
      Isaiah 48:12 “Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel [f]whom I called;
I am He, I am the first, I am also the last.
The first and the last died and rose again.
Revelation 1:17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying,
“Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,
18 and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore,
Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. As a man, Jesus ate, thirsted, slept, wept, prayed to God and died. As God, Jesus rebuked Satan, forgave sin, performed miracles, accepted worship from the people, raised the dead and even raised himself from the dead. John 2:19 It is called the hypostatic union.
      God bless you.

Thats why I asked so at least some things about it get clarified for me. Are 7 day Adventist Christians?

    • @fayelewis5476
      @fayelewis5476 Před 5 lety

Some of them are. They follow a lot of false teachings though.
Seventh-day Adventism is a sect of Christianity that believes, among other things, that worship services should be conducted on the “seventh day” (the Sabbath) instead of on Sunday. There seem to be different "degrees" of Seventh-day Adventism. Some Seventh-day Adventists believe identically to orthodox Christians, other than holding to the Saturday Sabbath. Other Adventists, however, go much further into aberrant doctrine.
Seventh-day Adventism has its roots in Adventism, a 19th-century movement that anticipated the imminent appearance (or advent) of Jesus Christ. The Adventists were also called Millerites because their group was founded by William Miller, a false prophet who predicted Jesus would return in either 1843 or 1844. When Miller’s prediction of Christ’s second coming failed to come to pass, the Millerites disbanded in dismay; this event became known as “the Great Disappointment.” But then a couple of Miller’s followers claimed to have visions to account for the failed prophecy. Instead of coming to earth, Jesus had entered the heavenly temple-thus, Miller was right, after all, they said, except his prophecy had a spiritual fulfillment instead of a physical one. One of the seers who covered for Miller was 17-year-old Ellen G. Harmon, who had her first of 2,000 purported visions in a prayer meeting shortly after Miller’s disgrace. With her vision, Ellen soon became a beacon of hope for disillusioned Millerites. She united Adventist factions and became the spiritual guide for a new religious group.
In 1846, Ellen married James White, an Adventist preacher. Soon they became convinced that Sabbath-keeping was for all Christians. In 1847, Ellen G. White had another vision-this one confirming her new belief that Sabbath-keeping was to be a primary doctrine. The Adventists under Ellen G. White’s influence became Seventh-day Adventists. Ellen G. White’s many visions and writings-she was a prolific writer-greatly shaped the doctrine of Seventh-day Adventism. Today, most Seventh-day Adventists still consider Ellen White to be a prophetess of God, even though many of her prophecies failed to come true. In fact, Seventh-day Adventists consider Revelation 19:10 (“the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”) to be a reference to Ellen G. White’s writings.
In 1855, the Seventh-day Adventists settled in Battle Creek, Michigan, and in May 1863 the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists was officially incorporated. In the next five decades, Ellen G. White wrote nearly 10,000 pages of prophetic material. Included in the visions was the doctrine of “The Great Controversy,” a cosmic war being waged between Jesus and His angelic army and Satan and his. Other visions dealt with healthy eating habits, which Mrs. White called “the gospel of health” (Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 6, p. 327). Seventh-day Adventism places restrictions on consuming meat, or “flesh food,” as Adventists call it. “Flesh food is injurious to health, and whatever affects the body has a corresponding effect on the mind and the soul” (The Ministry of Healing, Chapter 24: “Flesh as Food,” p. 316). It is no surprise that, after requiring Sabbath-keeping, Adventists began to add other elements of legalism into their creed.
Interestingly, Kellogg’s Corn Flakes was an Adventist creation: John Harvey Kellogg was a Seventh-day Adventist doctor in Battle Creek who wanted to manufacture a “healthy” vegetarian alternative to “unhealthy” breakfasts containing meat. Meanwhile, Mrs. White kept having visions, and she began teaching the unorthodox doctrines of soul sleep and annihilationism (which contradicts Matthew 25:46).
Other problematic doctrines in Seventh-day Adventism include the teaching that Satan is the “scapegoat” and will bear believers’ sins (The Great Controversy, p. 422, 485)-this is the opposite of what the Bible says about who bore our sins (1 Peter 2:24). Seventh-day Adventism also identifies Jesus as Michael the archangel (Jude 1:9, Clear Word Bible, published by Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1994)-a doctrine that denies the true nature of Christ-and teaches that Jesus entered a second phase of His redemptive work on October 22, 1844, as prophesied by Hiram Edson. And, of course, the Adventist promotion of Sabbath-keeping as a primary doctrine goes against the teaching of Scripture on the matter (see Romans 14:5).
Seventh-Day Adventism is a diverse movement, and not all SDA groups hold to all the doctrines mentioned above. But all Seventh-Day Adventists should seriously consider the following: a recognized prophetess in their church was a teacher of aberrant doctrine, and their church has its roots in the failed prophecies of William Miller.
So, should a Christian attend a Seventh-day Adventist church? Due to the penchant of Adventists to accept extra-biblical revelation and the doctrinal issues mentioned above, we would strongly encourage believers to not get involved in Seventh-day Adventism. Yes, a person can be an advocate of Seventh-day Adventism and still be a believer. At the same time, there are enough potential risks to warn us against joining a Seventh-day Adventist church.
