  • Aum Supreme Truth Cult (1995): The lid is lifted on the monstrous activities and thwarted plans of the Aum Supreme Truth cult and show how its apocalyptic rhetoric and plans to kill the Emperor and overthrow the Japanese state were backed with deadly and detailed planning.

From military training for cult members in Russia to a secret chemical factory in Australia the cult was preparing for doomsday. Members were immersed in hot water and imprisoned underground to ready them for war. It all began in 1990, when a former university student and 24 of his followers ran for Japanese Parliament. The voters snubbed their party. Five years later, leader Shoko Asahara extracted a terrible revenge as 5,500 people were left choking and blinded in Tokyo's city subways, victims of a deadly sarin nerve gas attack.

i have to give you the benefit of the doubt because i too once thought the Japanese have everything greener on their side if you know what I mean...while i love Japan i feel like I only looked at the good things and thought everything was better there...they have alot of great things going for them but also alot of things that you'd be surprised with. Their culture and style and way of life attracts people almost like a cult lol...especially big fans of Video games and Anime...and low crime and ...people don't liteer..a bunch of shit
plus I don't think it was the levitation that attracted people it's the way he kinda played on what people wanted to hear...and it's not that they were dumb persay it's just their wants/emotions were being played on ...there's different kinds of smarts anyways...book smart...street smart...logical...unpractical ...emotionally smart...genius...idk lol....Also the culture of Japan made it "taboo" for the police and government to get involved...i think that was said in the video...
like the other guy said i don't think a whole country can be smart or dumb but i also gotta give it to Japan cause they're rank 5th in children's education compared to Us which is 14th...but thats also a the misconception with this whole thing is that educational smarts does not always mean practical smarts or logical but people who have good education are always gonna be generally gonna be smarter towards the areas that was taught to them ....math ...language...history...ect ect and end up going to higher learning and being successful well rounded people.

@Mrs. Arthur Morgan the real downside of far less trash cans is that shops and people just put their garbage bags out in the streets in the evenings to be picked up by garbage trucks early in the morning. If you go out early in the morning you can see piles of garbage bags carefully disposed onto the streets in front of buildings. This is a real feast for crows and rats at night and it's a sanitary problem for Japan. I'm surprised that they haven't designed a workaround this yet.

They got a tip-off that the police raid was coming so they only had a few days to try to get this batch finished (they already had it started but would have been expected to spend maybe 2 or 3 more weeks on it when suddenly they needed it in 2 days). They had to get rid of some of the purer batches from the past because either it had broken down over time or because it had to be disposed of before one of the previous raids. If they had some of those previous batches this could have gone down in history as the largest terrorist attack in history by a wide margin and could have had a death toll in the hundreds of thousands.

When I informed me more about the death penalty in Japan I read that the Japanese people have a strong sense of duty and order, that's why over 80% of the citizens support the death penalty. Even the family members of the criminals support the death penalty when the criminal is found clearly guilty. The reason may be the family thinks they failed in raising the culprit and support the death sentence is their way of taking responsibility. @@Sweaper That is my saying. :) Corrected reply. You can consult other sages for advice, but at the end of the day, you need to create your own wisdom. There are many people who created sanctuaries to welcome people to be their followers, learn wisdom and etc. It is also a means of herding people to carry out certain community activities which they think is righteous. That is why you will feel so comfortable that you might stay there for life and even make your children follow them. You will have the feeling of doing the right things and you will continue following the teachings wholeheartedly. There are many levels of wisdom. You have to correctly gauge the wisdom level of the people owning the sanctuary, and then move on when you find that the wisdom that you gain is limited. Anyway it is better to keep learning new wisdom from other teachers all around the world, and create new wisdom on your own. Wisdom has to be originating from yourself then it is truly yours.
