I might not collect pokemon cards like you, but I had a similar reaction when I got shiny Lugia in pokemon go in 2019. Played since 2016 and never got any shiny legendary. In June 2019 I opened the 7 day research box, and got shiny Lugia. Not only was that my favourite legendary pokemon, but that was as said my first shiny legendary. Passed out twice from sheer excitement.
Do you still play? I started late Nov last year. Shiny Lucario with around 2.8 IV is my most prized Pokemon.
