This man is a full band and a half. Super talented. I'm impressed.
All these years an I honestly never knew he was an Englishman. Incredible what happens when you focus on their playing more than anything else
Move over Chet Atkins! Your torch has been picked up, and carried on in great style. 🥂🥂🍺🍺🥰
Saw Richard in Fayetteville NC a few years ago. Must say..no doubt. He's one of the Greats!
He's the best in the business, no doubt about it. And he's got a wonderful sense of humour.
Richard is a musical genius and a helluva nice guy too. He played where I worked as a sound guy and was my favorite show in my 7 year tenure at that club.
Richard Smith is superb, and a friendly guy. He played Houston folk club ( Just outside Greenock) twice several years ago. Wonderful see that he is now getting the recognition he deserves.
I could listen to him all day long.
The rendition of Eddy Arnold's Tennessee Waltz was outstanding skips and all. What a talent and sense of humour.
Truly world class. Bravo Richard.
Fantastic playing. He is definitely one of the best!
10/10 musician and person he just gets better every time I listen
He,s a genius a prodigy,he was probably playing almost that well when he was 12 years old.
So fantastic! He is so spectacular!! One of a kind!!0

Amazing Play!!Richard is very grate guitar player.
Simply amazing.
21:19 - funniest thing I've heard in a LONG time! Saw him do this live, and almost lost it! BRAVO!
Counted Richard's fingers, he has the number as everyone!! Totally amazing and funny. An true guitar genius. Thank you. Kudos.
Yes, maybe, but I'm sure some of them must become detached from the rest of his hands briefly without us noticing...
Incredible chops and great personality - thanks for sharing this!
Wonderful. I do believe you might have even made Segovia blush. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Segovia was stuck up so much if you didn't play the piece correctly, every note and with his style he frowned upon it.Sad really ,Django played for him , he didn't like it ......John Williams will tell you more
Ordinary name, extraordinary player.
What else can you say, Awesome, loved the skipping record, hahaha!
He just keeps on getting better and better!! Love the way he tweaks these old standards in new and tasteful ways..
This man may have been a child prodigy, but he has worked so hard on his technique over the years. Simply amazing. Glad he started to sing, not a bad voice. Hope he lives a long time.
tremendous playing. thumbs up just ain`t enough. I think you need to be a guitar player to truly appreciate how good he is
Wow!!!! Just WOW!!!
Very Reminiscent of Roy Clark!! Very good style!!
Amazing, perfectly clean playing! Even in the quickest picking parts there's not a single buzzing from the strings.
He does a great job of The Entertainer, on guitar.
Incredible talent - a joy !
tHANX tED, MADE 2023 A BETTER YEAR FOR ME. CHEERS.

Sabe o q me impressiona no Richard Smith?😮 A suavidade com que ele toca. Ele não ataca, acaricia as cordas
Love your guitar work, the best paul.
He is one of the best giutar players. 👍
Still blowing and going! Well that’s what us truck drivers do- keep on rolling until we can’t get behind the wheel. Love you Richard keep on pickin! God bless

Thank you Doyle that was fantastic and very informative. I am still enjoying my Godin Doyle Dykes guitar Eric Armstrong
WOWWWW!!!!
Nemam riječi fantastično
World class is right
The mostly Mozart cover at 22:20 is breathtakingly smooth
@@superhepu Indeed. He plays what seems to be his version of Fernando Sor's Variations on a Theme by Mozart Op. 9
Yes yes
🤩
Nice
nice you bast!!!
I used 2 say when I first heard Tommy Emmanuel I wanted 2 burn my guitar 🎸 now I really want 2 burn it after hearing Richard
Nice melodic approach and great tone. What amp do you use?
what's the name of classical piece played at 23 minutes?
6:15 most number of notes ever played in 5 seconds
Anybody know the tunes he just played, in order? THE BEST!!!!!
East Wind
Walkin' The Strings
So Round,So Firm, So Fully Packed
Mister Lucky
The Watkins Man
Tennessee Waltz
Variations On A Theme Of Mozart
Thanks for sharing the question and answer. This teaches me song titles...
It has a Tango feel 2/4
Holy cow, Batman!
whats the name of the first song he plays?
@@robsmith8052 i liked it so much that I learned it! czcams.com/video/4j8jzw4kebk/video.html
Britian's Chet Atkins
Chet Atkins style
He even looks like Segovia
Better than Chet Atkins. Love his version of many songs.
A product of Chet's influence. He learned from Chet's ability to play rhythm and melody at the same time, but on steroids! Look for him playing with Tommy Emmanuel. Two of Chet's greatest prodigy's.
And he also sings like Sinatra! Please somebody find a flaw on this guy
Catch him on video with Tommy Emmanuel and guthrie Trapp Bryan Sutton and pat Burleson playing Johnny Cash song 🎵 ♥
Richard is one of a handful of guitar pickers that Tommy enjoys playing with!
OMG! I was just gonna post; "What if this guy and Tommy Immanuel got together and wrote something?" Very few pickers could follow them! I need to see that video!
Great player, ugly pieces!
No matter how articulate this man is on guitar, all he's doing is getting his one leg moving. I don't see anyone
in the audience getting up to dance, what music is all about. I could unplug my guitar and jump off the stage
onto the dance floor or into the audience to move around and get back up and everyone's getting off on it.
I also think he should have dressed a little nicer, being a style-setter or at least more formal than his audience.
Nonsensical statement, my man. How he dressed for the concert? Scheeez..
Dancing, is what music is about? This is a seated concert! People have come to LISTEN to him perform..not jump up in an aisle, and make spectacle's of themselves! It's NOT dance music..it's a musical PERFORMANCE of skill and humor. Man...get a grip, instead of a critical opinion as to what shoes he's wearing!
I'll bet that the last song Richard played here can not be played by any other guitarist on earth. Superb! If you think you are this good then try it and we will see who the real master of the guitar really is, It's... of course...Richard Smith! Damn, I swear I saw smoke coming out of his guitar as he played the literal hell out of his instrument!
A Master Guitarist. Saw him in Plant City,FL........Wow!
Very nice
I've seen Richard numerous times and all over the place over the last 25 years. I've always found him to be very friendly easy to converse with.
