By far one of the best looking, best sounding, best feeling and most modern feeling EMU's on Britain's track.
That last shot with the Original GTR "Thameslink" Logo. I miss that!
I didnt even notice that, becauee typically the 717s have it so it looks familiar and i can't really tell. But good thing you mentioned it.
The first time I went on the Class 700 Desiro City, I was impressed with it being Air Conditioned, having a wide Gangway so you can walk through the entire train and the Public Address Anouncements Chime Jingle used on those trains were also used on Nederlandse Spoorwegen the Dutch Railway operator in the Netherlands. They play that jingle when making announcements in the Railway Stations and Platforms as well. I love the Class 700s and they are much nicer compared to the Class 319s were back then.
Lovey sound of how the train passes at such speed! Great video!
The class 700/717 /707 sound is amazing
I love the 12 car version of Class 700 more than 8 car ones. Believe me UK badly needs 8 car and 12 car sets more than the 3, 4, 5, and 6 car trainsets. Atleast on mainline routes, to handle the ever increasing passenger train demands
Great video of the 700/0s and 1s. I love the 700/1s with 12 coaches long even with the pride livery as well.
great vid!! I love these trains so much, and its pride livery looks really nice!
Another amazing video for some great trains! Good job!
Its a shame siemens seems to be getting shunned by operators wanting new trains. Desiros are brilliant trains
Shunned? Why? Oh I assume maybe because it's expensive?
To be honest, 700s aren't that brilliant when it comes to acceleration on third rail, maybe thats why.
They are surprisingly light per carriage , but lack the horsepower to accelerate on third rail despite being probably over 20 tones lighter than alot of 2000s trains.
If Im correct, desiro citys individual traction motors are capable of utilising 200kw of power (according to Google and I think a PDF, advertising the 707s, but I'm not sure if that applies to 700s) whereas the older rolling stock like 450s use likely use over 250kw per motor, but are much heavier than desiro cities.
The point is, they are efficient but probably dont utilise as much power as they otherwise could. Again, they are lighter than an 8 car 377 but can't accelerate as fast as one despite being lighter .which sort of demonstrates the point im making as to why they aren't as good as they could be on third rail. On AC they perform really well though .
Class 707s however are alot quicker to 70mph for some odd reason. Likey faster than all 100mph units on Third rail. But only the 100mph versions. Maybe its because they lack the weight of the OLE power supply and only run on DC so they are lighter overall. Or they are just more efficient than a 700..who knows.
@@bb-3653the desiros have the same 1m/s acceleration as the 700s, but seems to accelerate at 0:65 m/s like the Electrostars, which leads to over steering on the new cross London bridges section, they should've raised the speed there during the London bridge works
@@bb-3653I agree about the 707s, they seem to have the same gear catch system on the S7/S8 stock which allows them to reach 60mph very easily, however the underground 1972, 1992, 1995, 1995, 2009 stock would be faster if they were allowed to achieve 100 mph as they have more power to weight ratio than a 707 or S8 stock
@@nocontractnogames so upon the years i made this comment. Ive realised its likely merely down to power restrictions as a natural part of the DC systems on board. The desiso city 707 seems to have a partially weaker starting acceleration than a class 700 on DC but overtake them near 35mph and are constantly better to higher speeds than 700s in all metrics on DC. this is even true in 10 car formation on the 707s too. They are just better than 700s overall on third rail .
700s on DC seem to have a burst of power if the Drivers are willing to full throttle it . But taper off at 14mph. And take a while to hit 60mph. Its even worse for the 12 car sets. They take 75 seconds to hit 60mph vs 65 seconds to 60mph of the 8bcar 700s.
In summary , Apparently the 707s have a 0.8m/s² rate. But maintain it better than 700s .
Nice trains these
Great video
thanks
Great Video. Also, do the class 800's have the same horn as the 700's? Because they sound very similar.
This is my kind of video
Nice video
Great video.☺️
Thank you!
@@thetransporthub Ur welcome. ☺
Great video, cant believe you got pride livery first clip lol, I dont get them where I live I live in Plymouth where there are only IETs , can you do a video on best of 802s?
He's going through all the trains in class order.
@@ClaretBlueTrainspotter oh ok
Did that 3rd Thames link beep at you
high speed
Thameslink really pulled out the stops with these, I absolutely love them. Seats aren't the best (the old 319s were comfier for sure) but aside from that, fantastic all around - they work really well and look and sound fantastic.
0:08 isn’t that elstree and borehamwood station
The very first train in SCR Year 2017
2:40 Since when does Thameslink now go to Kings Lynn?
@Jahshai it must be a one off or a very rare working - the station appears to be either Waterbeach, Littleport or Watlington.
what was the station at 1:07?
Norwood Junction
Just imagine a homophobic driver being assigned to the Pride 700 😂
who else HATES the look of this train
not as much as I hate the interior!
not me
I love the horn
transport hub if you hate it then why are you filming it
love it!
