    • @mynameisreallycool1

I just went to the mall a few weeks ago. Plenty of people were still going. I think part of the reason why so many are shutting down is because there were too many being built when mall culture was at its peak in the 80s, when people had less options for going shopping. Now, because we buy so many things online and more and more stores have been popping up in cities and towns, instead of the mall being one of the few options for buying things, it's one of many. People still shop at malls, but they're not doing it as frequently, because it's not as necessary as it was 40 years ago. So when there are too many malls and not enough people coming frequently enough, then those malls aren't getting enough customers, so shutting some of them down and only leaving a few in each area makes more sense, I think (varies from town to town), because mall shoppers can go to one mall and that mall gets more money and people coming in.

I remember going here as a child. It’s sad to see such a nostalgic and beautiful mall go through todays society… I just wish that maybe people would spend more time outside than inside now. But technology these days are so ‘advanced’ that a lot of people would rather stay stuck inside glued to their bed because of the ‘convenience’ even having a device, I wish people would still go outside. I hate seeing abandoned places, as a lot of them are abandoned because they succumbed to today’s technology, or they may have a dark past. But seeing such a beautiful spot go bad because people didn’t have the money to keep up a place people barely went to is sad.

There is very little malls left in America. I remember reading Seymour used to be the number one. Hangout when I was in high school. Now it's pretty much empty. I say to carry it down and build affordable apartments. For people who live there, we need more avoidable apartments for people who live, and they shouldn't have to kill themselves. Just to pay the rent, it should be affordable. And then people will live there and if you make it. Now it's infordable. These people will try their best to take care of that properly so we could be there for the next 4 years and 50 to 60 years. That's what we need more in Jacksonville, Florida, it's more affordable apartments. Houses condos employees for people to live mill class in the poor needs a lot is to live that are affordable. You're one better than an apartment. Should not cost a $1000 a month? That's ridiculous.

Its subject to vandalism??? Its a hunk of junk sitting there!. That's vandalism enough since they haven't torn it down and put use to the space with something else instead.

This was/is my mall that closed.
Ik that there is a mine shaft under it but they should re-build it. Also google says it's the 2nd largest abandoned mall
