    Nearly every word serves a purpose. If you've seen this guy write a comedy bit. Even if you haven't. He's not just a comedian, he's a performer. And I don't mean that in a smug way. I mean go watch some other stand up from this channel the come back and compare. Listen to the rhythm and the diction of the words. The choices of consonants, of vowels. The breathing. All while performing like a marionette. It's all so subtle though mostly, but it adds up to something intangible . There's a reason he's one of the kings. He's an artist. I hate him for his talent.

    • @satiethetutor3337
      @satiethetutor3337 Před 9 lety +7

      Grae Hall Exactly right! Making clever observations is just one part of Seinfeld. I think you might be referring to the New York Times video he did on how to write a joke. He polishes his words, his expressions, the rhyme and rhythm and his voice so much, after coming up with the joke. The finished product is like a brilliant diamond

    Jerry's one of the funniest people ever. He seems like he's "clean cut" but he just believes if you have to swear in your act to make it funnier, then you're not a good enough comedian. The man!

      He is a self-absorbed pompous ass. It would be a fallacy to use that as an excuse to say his comedy is bad. But to call him clean cut is just off.

      He's one of the most clever and innovative comedians of all time. There's really no disputing that. And Seinfeld was the funniest, greatest and most well written tv show of all time. I can't even watch other sitcoms because all I think is "I'd rather be watching Seinfeld"

      gregg mikulla i hope you are being sarcastic
      i think malcolm in the middle was better written and more funny, i hate shows it canned laughs, where they are like "here! laugh here! did you laugh here?" the plot of seinfeld, which im currently watching right now is SO simple, the characters are so unrealistic and if they were realistic, i would think that they are some sociopaths, kramer is hilarious sometimes, but the rest are really annoying, especially jerry, then george and then elaine
      i dont know if you are american or not, or it has something to do with your sense of humor, but im watching season 4 of seinfeld and the show so far only made me laugh five or six times at best
      i cant recall of a show that was really funny to me, not even malcolm in the middle, because my sense of humor is tickled mostly by specific absurdisms and dark humor or black comedy
      for me seinfeld and most of american comedy is so primitive, when i lived on cape cod for a summer and i flipped all the other bulgarians, so for five months i was only with americans, and when we hung out, i would say something thats barely funny to me and they would laugh their asses off
      if you find seinfeld to be funny for you, then good for you, this means that if simple things like seinfeld can make you laugh your ass off for five hours straight, you are one happy person

    While this may not be his best performance, Seinfeld has been killing it for decades and is a comic legend. How many of today's comic performances can claim to have no cursing, no slander, no negative racial elements, no crudeness or lewdness? These guys can't top themselves forever. Seinfeld may or may not continue to be relevant, but really there is not a lot left to prove.
