AAX
sabian.com/cym...
AAX cymbals from SABIAN introduce a whole new palette of sound. A whole new style of hammering − much more visible on the surface of the cymbal due to the larger, rounder peen makes for added darkness and complexity. At the same time, more highs are introduced into the sound, resulting in a wider band of frequency. For drummers, that means brighter highs and more complex lows. SABIAN has always pushed the boundaries of innovation, using the latest manufacturing technology to answer new trends in music and sound. AAX cymbals are no exception.

HHX
sabian.com/cym...
With HHX, we opened up a brave new world of sound possibility by taking dark, musically rich tone, and making it cut. So no matter what kind of music you play, HHX makes it easy to get your dark mojo working. Are you ready to unleash your dark?

XSR
sabian.com/cym...
Why is XSR so good? Like our other professional series cymbals, XSR cymbals are pin-point lathed and hammered. Their profiles have been enhanced and their bells reshaped and redesigned to accelerate the overall sound. The result? Crashes are thinner, with quicker responses. Rides provide a tasty balance of stick definition and tonal wash. And Hats are crispy and accurate, with boosted clarity and cut. Try a set on today and find out what the buzz is all about.

I love the "sloppy" feel of him bouncing back and forth between swing and straight time. Cymbals of course are incredible.
For the love of God, Dave...HIT THE BELL
For the love of god HE'S PLAYING A SONG. Go to mycymbal.com if the lack of a hacky demo bugs you that bad. This is the cymbals in a real context.
Playing a song = not being allowed to hit bell?
And yeah I could visit the Memphis Drum shop but I like hearing the cymbals in context of a song.
Eric Sandoval including the bell being hit by Dave.
@@bigmich485 that makes no sense
These seriously sound so excellent as a set, and good grief they’re absolutely gorgeous😭
When is your review comin man?
jermss I really just don’t have the money for it, man. I would absolutely LOVE to put out some demos and comparisons of these but it would set me back too much :/ Just the fact that you asked really means a ton to me though, if I do manage to snag one or two, you’ll be the first to know!
Awesome
Glad you're using Dave to promote more stuff. I really think he's one of the artists that you as a company should be utilizing to the fullest as a consultant and showcasee. He knows what the fuck is up.
I love the concept of such a slow tempo. No matter if he’s on time, I love how this video highlights so much of the tones and you hear such a well mixed blend to me.
HHX complex, finally a cymbal from Sabian that I truly respect and desire. They just went from good to great in my book with the release of this cymbal line.
You need to hear them in person.
Then sabain goes from good to worse
I love Dave so much and these cymbals sound stunning!
well.. through the years I've never been liking sabian sound, no matter what series and models, there was always something a little wrong with them, to me personally. but with these complex models they've clearly outdid themselves and raised the bar substantially. really, really good sounding cymbals, pleasantly and not excessively dark, shimmering, lively. great job
I agree. I feel like they always have these weird high pitched overtones that are very subtle but ever present. These cymbals don’t suffer from that, at least not on this recording.
It's that silvery sound you're describing. Aax are like that
Amazing cymbals! Now, this new logo make a sense for me!
I experience a pure sence of joy everytime I watch this. Dave’s drumming is so fucking nice. And the cymbals sound amazing.
I bought it right after sweetwater posted the ad. really, the sound of it impressed me. Perfect for this new series of Sabian
Tony Williams-esque in how he beats the hell out of the cymbals and manhandles the drums.
Well done...
That kit sounds amazing, as do the cymbals. I love Dave's style, he can bash with the best as well as chop. His doubles are seamless.
Love the left hand.
Love the cymbals.
Thanks man!
I remember seeing Dave at his first Modern Drummer festival appearance in 2006 I believe, he's a completely different person now both in appearance and playing..
Smokey as hell offerings Sabian!
Nice cymbals 😊
1:37 Holy sh.... that insane single strokes
Great playing, that song is so good
Love the Complex cymbals! Made a video of me demoing these cymbals as well and I can’t wait to try the new O-Zone crashes!! ❤️🥁
just....AWESOME, human playing a drumset that sounds like an awesome human playing with great-sounding Sabians
Sabian's answer to the Kildjian K. They sound great.
Also dont forget ya’ll, these are recorded with the very inexpensive Sabian practice mic kit, and the cymbals sound great! Not sure which is more impressive lol
yes i love the sound.
Love the sound
What a monster player and those cymbals sounds great
This video made me just order these... thanks Dave! I cannot believe I am moving to the Sabian family!
We know that Dave could make even the worst cymbals sound great, but definitely it is not the case with these comples babies. Great cymbals.
I'm loving these cymbals, and this video sounds great, with great playing. But every time he hits the 20" crash it hits the 17" crash and it's kinda killin' me.
Dave does that on purpose. He likes when cymbals smack each other a little bit
Right!!!????😄 Dude that was totally killing me too!!!!!!! I hear nails on a chalkboard in my head every time I see the cymbals hitting each other!😄
These sound awesome. Just ordered the performance set.
Wow so BEEEEEHIND!!!! Amazing
Sounding awesome bro👍🏿😎
Great tone! Definitely have a specific sound though. Thinking maybe just a few of these, then some brighter cymbals for more diversity
thanks for telling us which cymbal is which!
Luckely they hide the awful new logo under the cymbals
I thank God for this lol new logo is a such a tragedy.
Just FYI, they come right off quick and easy with a bit of nail polish remover.
All the people bitching and moaning about the new logo is worse than the logo itself tbh. If the cymbals sound good then who cares?
@@drummerdan95 it's an opinion. I won't stop buying a cymbal that I like just because of the logo. But I can say that I don't like it.
@@drummerdan95 uhhh people that care about their gear looking like ass when they paid $250-400 each...
Anyone knows which melody is this?
Nice sounding cymbals! Sound just like Zildjian K's
Thanks Dave! Been trying to hear that Ride and need someone to actually play the damn thing.
Can someone tell me what are those things he had that is replacing the screws for the cymbals?! I’ve see a lot of drummers use them and I think there cool 😅 lol
Need the sizes on these
Dave, could you please shed some light on the thickness of the cymbals you are using here? In particular the ride cymbal.
Would love to know this as well. Looking at picking up either a medium or thin, this would help me make my choice.
Are those natural or brilliant finish? SICK CRASHES!
No specific cymbal info from the people selling them? strange.
What about the snare?! (O.T.)
What's on top of the cymbal stands? Oh and love the cymbals, my next kit...
Marc Labelle Uhhhh would it be cymbals you’re referring to? On top of the cymbal stands
No, instead of wing nuts...
Marc Labelle ah, I didn’t even see those. I just assumed they weren’t using anything on top, but I see what you’re talking about now. Looks interesting, that’s for sure
Found them...

why is is the underpinnings of cymbal ! say Sabian?
This guys playing reminds me of Ringo Starr except with chops :-)
That logo on the bottom is hideous for such a great cymbal set
Is the 22" Ride medium or thin?
Oh yea
Can I order these with the old logo?
Anyone know where to find the backing track?
I don't know the song but I believe it's off Brain's new album
What Brain ? could you please say the full name and the album ? Thx in advance! @@1dudecrush
could anyone help how to transcript the fill from 1:07 ?
imgur.com/gallery/Gelzy9Q
I wrote it in my S9 and I couldn't put the hand pattern, but I think this can help. Hahahaha
@@alefejamarino wow Thank you, appreciated! I got the hand pattern with your help!
He is always playing the ghost notes doubles with his left.
It's like you're playing Inn between a shuffley and straight time feel. Not something many can do and make it sound good.
kan pu gagn gtgt la?
Those symbols sound nothing like that that is all him and the sound guy.
Very disappointing in person
Some nice phrasing, but he seems to be struggling to keep in time at this tempo.
Sounds fine to me. He player some fills over the bar. Maybe that's what you're hearing?
DrumRoody I agree, he loves to throw metric modulation in there, so it doesn’t sound like your average idyllic 4/4, which I honestly love and prefer listening to/watching. So much energy behind the kit.
He's dead on.. lol
@@DrumRoody No, it's mainly the straighter bits that I'm referring to, during which sometimes he's behind the beat, and other times ahead of it. The most obvious example is at 2:10. Dave's a great drummer, but he's not the first to have difficulty keeping good time while playing sparsely at an awkward tempo.
dolenslupus Believe me, it’s deliberate.
