  • Have you ever wondered how people build and install bridges so quickly. After only a short time, on the road you still go every day, suddenly a new bridge was built? This video will explain the whole process to build and install iron bridges using the most modern machines and technology. Initially, the frames and girders will be fabricated at the factory. These beams are then transported to the construction site, where everything is prepared. After a short time, the frames and girders are installed in their positions according to the design. And simply, the bridge was completed.

Most people have no idea what goes into individual items of a bridge. Steel changed the way we build forever. I have seen steel fab making hulls of ships, tube sections for submarines, and columns for skyscrapers. Bridges are like a steel building, only on it's side.
One part of fab that has always amazed me was drilling hundreds and hundreds of holes the right size, in the right place on steel. Front piece has to match back piece exactly if holes are to line up. Even 1 hole off can mess up the other 99 that are correct. In old days they used rivets to hold things together. Now, high strength bolts work better.
The trial fit at fab shop before parts go to job site important. Easier to fix a problem at shop than in field.

The boss of Park Engineering in Perth had a plan and the hindsight to set up his structural work shop with cnc machines
and it was a fantastic workshop to work In plenty of over head cranes Gary the work shop boss employed top tradies
They also have a beam making machine I think the biggest welded beam was 3 mtrs in the flange
Yes he could look into the future……

Yea me too, I guess some people see it as job security, but I would hate it. I was a construction worker for 35 years, I didn't even like it if I was on the same job for more than a few months. It was great going to different jobs meeting different people all the time.

All those cars were new enough to have anti-lock brakes, but the wheels were staying locked up. Anti-lock brakes don't work well or at all on super slick surfaces.

If you stay focused and be a very defensive, you can avoid becoming a victim of one of those idiots. Things like, even if you have a green light at an intersection, it still doesn't hurt to look both ways before going through.
