  • Are you curious about how Turkish People Entertain Their Guests?
    Watch how Turks host their guests, how the preparation for the menu goes in the kitchen, what they cook and how they serve it. In this Turkish cultural vlog, I am going to my relative's house and film all the details to show you like you are there :)
    I want to note some points:
    The gathering was for the host's mom's anniversary that passed away. (She was my aunt:( She used to make beautiful tables and foods too.
    She didn't know that I was going to film it.
    In the menu some of the dishes were brought by the guests including my cig kofte :) The recipe is here: • Cig Kofte Recipe | Tur...

      How would you describe the music and what would be an example of traditional music?

    • @oguztokur3673
      @oguztokur3673 Před 4 lety

      Susan L.B. There are three types of music you might call as turkish traditional music.turkish classical music, turkish folk music and religious music.some might say that classical music and religious music are similar.
      For the real turkish classical music (palace music) you can type "dimitrie cantemir turkish classical music" and for the folk music you can type "kara toprak by asik veysel".
      Of course both genre has different subgenres.these sounds are just tip of the iceberg

    • @susan2043
      @susan2043 Před 4 lety

      Oğuz, thank you so much for the information. I will look up those examples. I sometimes use the music of Tümata for music therapy, so at least I know a little about some of the instruments used in traditional music. Teşekkür ederim

    Hello Aysenur - I do hope I am not being informal by using your first name - if so I apologize.
    This has been a wonderful insight into Turkish hospitality & thank you for sharing.
    As usual I am very jealous & wish I was there with a full plate of food, looking to fill it again and again.
    I could not because if my mother was to see me I might embarrass her.
    While I would have had some tea to drink, then some Turkish coffee with Tiramisu - if my mother was with me she would be delighted!
    She drinks tea like a Turkish native.
    From morning until night - tea, tea, tea.
    Could you advise me please what tea you use, as I hope to gift it her at Christmas.
    I am visiting them & taking my Cezve & demitasse with me and for my mother çay glasses & of course Lokum for the family.
    Thank you for everything you do.
    David.

      She probably didn’t see your comment, but incase you’re still wondering about the tea, it’s most likely Turkish tea. You can find it in all Turkish food shops (like Turkish food centre if you’re in the UK) You can also find Turkish tea glasses in those shops. Would make a great gift for a tea lover! The tea is brewed in a specific way, but there’s a tutorial on this channel ☕️ All the best!

    Thank you for filming this! Sometimes you just want to join in and not film, so we appreciate it! I enjoy an insight into the real lives of people in other countries :-)
