  • Miranda July looks back at her Artangel project, an interfaith charity shop that opened up unannounced inside one of the world's most famous department stores in August 2017.
Situated on the third floor of Selfridges, London, surrounded by designer boutiques, this shop was run and staffed jointly by four religious charities invited by July: Islamic Relief, Jewish charity Norwood, London Buddhist Centre and Spitalfields Crypt Trust.
This short documentary, Open to the World, is a featured extra on @criterioncollection's new special edition release of July's Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005). Available to buy on Blue-Ray and DVD: www.criterion.com/films/29112...

What appraisal was done, if any? Could this be a long term venture at a different location? So inspiring to see how people can come together from all cultural and religious backgrounds for a common goal.

We need this in Canada for the aboriginal community and other groups that have been looked down on for too long.

I wonder if she was inspired my a story I posted on my livejournal many many many years ago....hmmmm how interesting. Because could you IMAGINE how it would feel to write an intensely personal fictional vingnette while expering the worse of the worse domestic abuse, and pulled that story from your utter lowest depth of last hope, for a porceline, privelege, high class content creator to rip your material. Yeah that is Summer Sixteen frfr, lookin lookin lookin, not for revenge but AN EXPLANATION. I demand justice Jehovah!
