This is ... ... yeah, ok, this is fantastic. I can't type much for all the pain in my chest. This show unmakes me. I don't know that I can explain it. Your edits are absolutely perfect. This is incredible.
I honestly found myself crying during this show, I went in expecting the laughs and ended up drowning in the feels instead
I'M YELLING THIS IS SO PERFECT WHAT
You did it again!!!!! 😭It's like you've managed to decipher all the common themes and untangle all the different threads in the show to make videos that end up being complete visual essays about these characters and, in a way, about amazing storytelling . You've put all these pieces together and they work so well! Again, I love this a lot! The idea of flipping the kissing scene horizontally is so visually pleasing, it kinda mirrors the scene where Stede is telling Ed that he loves being near him, where Ed is sitting on the left, and also!! it completely mirrors the moon!kiss where Stede is on the left but he is the one putting his hand behind Ed's neck in that occasion asghjdhsk!!!! And omg!!! The line of young!Ed when he says 'Why can't we have things like that?" broke me in this context, to me it's like he's almost like adult Ed still wondering "why can't I be happy and leave this all behind? why not me?" but then we see Stede's putting the red piece of fabric in his pocket and telling him to cherish it and in that moment Ed finally seeing a glimpse of what he's always wanted, that thing that he thought he could never have. I could go on and on but I'll stop, just know that you're so talented! You have such an eye for visual threads, I wish I could do something like this and you're so quick omg! less than 48 hours and yet you've delivered such an articulate video ughhhH!!!! Ok, I'll stop for real now. I edit videos for work usually but you've inspired me tbh, maybe I'll give it a shot for OFMD. Thank you again for sharing this! * sends love and hugs*

honestly, i feel like i barely deserve the credit, the show is so narratively pleasing that it's very easy to pull at the threads it has so neatly and lovingly woven and work with that.
i'm (not so) lowkey emotional about that bit you wrote about ed and the red silk, that's how i feel about its meaning as well. i think it's so fascinating that, while ed and stede's respective trauma are very different, it has bred the same belief in them they are unworthy (in general and of each other). which is, obviously wrong and why i included izzy's line about them being good for each other. because if even the guy who was so against them can see it now, there's hope for them yet 🤞😔
OH, and hearing you might be inspired to vid ofmd made me go 😱😍✨. please do!!! the world needs all of them it can get. also, don't ever hesitate if you want some input or smth?? i usually don't even vid that much myself but this show got me boucing off the walls with inspiration, haha.
@@samson_vids I have to say that I sometimes leave comments under fanvids but not that many and usually not like this, your work(and this show obvs)has really hit me so I almost feel the need to leave you a comment to express all these feelings. The show is great of course but you work is just so neat, the way you edit all the different parts together is not easy even if the show is so well constructed, you really have to have a clear idea of what you want your video to be and what the truly important bits are. You could show many different aspects of this show and of the story of these characters and to even have the ability to choose which part you want to show and find ways to enhance your idea and that fact that you manage to then edit a video that works so well imo it deserves praises 😌✨. For example, this concept "i think it's so fascinating that, while ed and stede's respective trauma are very different, it has bred the same belief in them they are unworthy (in general and of each other).which is, obviously wrong and why i included izzy's line about them being good for each other. because if even the guy who was so against them can see it now, there's hope for them yet."(100%agree and love this btw) you've put it in a vary clear way inside your video and that's not something that comes easy to everyone, so, again, I'm really glad that OFMD has inspired you to make these because watching them helps me to have a clearer understanding of some of the deeper themes of the show and to also just see stuff under a new light that I maybe hadn't considered before.
I'll definitely tell you if I manage to actually vid this show, I was thinking of a song that was inspired by your previous vid, a song by Banners 👀 but I think I'll just wait for the season finale this week (😭😭😭) and then I'll see what I can do..I'll write you here or idk if you have a tumblr or something if I find myself stuck 😅❤

This cut me so deep 😭🥺💔 the way you brought together all of those moments so beautifully and masterfully made for such powerful storytelling. You so viscerally sense the origins of their wounding from the way you put this together, which makes so much sense of why they continue to self-sabotage and hurt each other, whether accidentally or deliberately. They love and want each other but are still learning how to love themselves and one another in a healthy way, which is something neither has done before, so of course they keep messing up! It's so heartbreaking seeing their deep insecurities continually get in the way of their love and your video brings all of that out so beautifully ❤ thank you for this! I don't think I breathed throughout the entire thing, it was so powerful 🫶🏼

Honestly, my messed up brain enjoyed immensely the dark first part of season 2 but I think I would DIE if they didn't make the ending happy. I would die on the spot. Of heartbreak. That's how dramatic I am. Ed level dramatic.
