Setting Up the Pig Enclosure

Cape Breton will always make you feel spring arrived in March before giving us a snowstorm in April; this year is no exception!
We woke up to a “Significant Early Spring Snowfall” warning for tomorrow and decided we better get the pig pen assembled before it’s buried in snow again!
The metal fencing we decided to use for the movable pig enclosure are sides from a large old trailer we used to own. This enclosure has been used many times for animal containment in the past (goats, meat birds & laying hens) and it will be used for many more purposes after the pigs are gone!
It was a windy chilly day but we are just going to get it done and not have to worry about it! We do have a couple a weeks still before the piglets are due to arrive but as homesteaders we know it’s better to do it sooner then later because something will always go wrong when you wait until last minute!
With the help of the crane on the homemade ATV Log Trailer it should be a pretty easy set up 🤞🏻
