‘Extinguish the whole thing’: Douglas Murray calls for Israel to ‘destroy’ Hamas

- Author Douglas Murray has called for Israel to “extinguish” the war in Gaza by completely destroying Hamas and making sure they are never operationally capable again.
Mr Murray warned that there are consequences for starting a war, and Hamas can’t now put their hands up and “call it a draw”.
“As one of the members of the war cabinet in Israel the other day said, Benny Gantz, there is no point in putting out three-quarters of a fire,” he told Sky News Australia.
“You either put the fire out or you don’t. You don’t put out a bit of the fire and then leave it burning.
“Extinguish the whole thing, or there’s no point, and in the case of Gaza, extinguishing the whole thing is destroying Hamas completely, making sure they are never again operationally capable.”
When Douglas is talking about Sweden, he's also describing how the UK will be very soon, the question is why is there so much pandering to immigrants?

There's a very big difference and it shows the level of your ignorance and/or level of education.
First off, ISIS formed in the Syria/Iraq region, so geographically there is not the same geopolitical ideology. Second, ISIS wanted to establish an Islamic caliphate which neither Iraq nor Syria have in modern times, even though both are Muslim majority countries. Thirdly, the countries that participated to fight ISIS formed a much broader coalition and or participant base. Even Iraqis and Syrians fought against ISIS in parallel with Westerners.
As for Hamas, they might be seen burning the Israeli and American flags, but never will they strike against the United States or any Western nation directly whereas lone wolf attacks from ISIS can and will still occur across the Western world even today as we speak. So, get your facts straight. ISIS can be of various nationalities, whereas Hamas is pretty much 100 % Palestinian.
Also, although both groups are Sunni, the worldview of Hamas is not such that the whole world should be Muslim. That is an ISIS ideology. Does Hamas want to obliterate Israel? That's not news but is no different than nuking Gaza and killing all people there.
Why is nuking Gaza right? Why would that solve a single problem? Just because the US did it, twice, does not mean it's effective or a way to solve any political problems.
As for the flip side of the coin, who supports ISIS now? You have a very small minority of Muslims, hard to identify the scope and magnitude exactly, but a greatly diminished number of people that would support ISIS at this very moment.
On the other hand, unpopular Hamas before 10/7 (by Palestinians that is) now have more and more support as civilians die in Gaza in the hundreds - some times 100s per day and you can see for yourself mass graves being uncovered left and right in Gaza - NOT killed by Hamas.
Just answer me one question: If you happen to have family in Gaza and you are an American citizen but you learn the Israelis killed them, what would your reaction be? Would it be like these idiots that say - then don't travel to Gaza? Do you realize how insensitive that is? And then we turn around and say that it's ok for Israeli and Israeli-American mothers to invoke emotion when it's their families being affected - hypocrisy at its finest.
What about the Israeli-Americans who purposely go to Israel to fight against Hamas and die? Why are they heroes now all of a sudden? What would you say if the Palestinians in Jordan who are PALESTINIANS or for that matter all of the PALESTINIANS in Syria and Lebanon too all go to fight Israel now? Would that be acceptable to you?

It's quite a statement about the times we are in when men and women can publicly call for genocide and not be immediately arrested.
The legal definition of genocide, by the UN:
"Acts committed with INTENT to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group".
To prove that someone is responsible for commiting acts of genocide, the prosecutor must provide enough evidence of both intentions, and actual actions taken upon them in order to make the condition, in which a certain group lives in, difficult to survive.
What the South African government has done is thoroughly collect in comprehensive, and disturbing way, I may add, a long list of statements by Israeli figures, the vast majority of whom are not part of the war cabinet, thus they have absolutely zero effect upon the decision-making cycle.
They even came up with quotes of pop singers and journalists no one had even heard of.
What you need to understand is that statements by themselves, as idiotic and dumb as they may be, (like "dropping an atom bomb upon Gaza", as if it's even possible) are not enough to prove that acts of genocide take place.
If that were the case, almost every other state in the world would be convicted.
By international law, there's a difference between "genocide" and "incitement to genocide".
Statements that explicitly call for genocide, along with the fact that actions againts those people were not taken, may be interpreted as incitement, but not as actually commiting genocide.
As 90% of the claims rely on those dumb statements, (and again, mostly stated by people with no real effect) means absolutely nothing.
South Africa added the number of casualties in Gaza to "prove" that Israel is committing acts of genocide.
As I've explained before, the number of casualties is both manipulative and misleading, and I'll explain again why: the Gaza Health Ministry, which reports the number of casualties in Gaza, is run by the terrorist organization, Hamas.
Since Hamas reports 20K casualties, these numbers should be taken with a grain of salt-
Hamas doesn't make a distinguish between fighters and uninvolved civilians, and it has good reasons why: To gain empathy in the world public opinion against Israel, in order to put pressure on it.
Well, I have news for you, which Hamas probably doesn't want you to hear!
About a month ago, when the casualties number was 18K (according to Hamas), IDF officials published an estimated number, by which at least 8K of the casualties were actually Hamas terrorists or civilians who had been involved in terrorism.
This makes the ratio nearly 1:1.
And let's face it:
In such a small area with a high population density, with over 2.2 million peope being used as human sheilds, if Israel really wanted to commit genocide, with all its military capabilities, you wouldn't get 20K casualties. You'd get 200K. Or even 400K.
But let's analyze the way in which Israel carries out the military operation in Gaza, which is actually what should be used as a "proof" of indiscriminate systematic bombing, such as acts of genocide-
At every war cabinet meeting in Israel, there is a legal adviser, who is an international law expert and approves Israel's actions prior of taking actions.
The Prime minister, the Defense Minister and any other member of the cabinet, all rely on the legal adviser.
If a someone really wanted to commit acts of genocide, would he seek some sort of approval from a legal expert?
But here's how the IDF actually operates.
Just a few of many other examples:
1- Pre-warnings prior to every attack.
2- Providing long times, sometimes even days, before places are being taken down.
3- Distribution of leaflets, text messages, and phone calls to people, urging them to evacuate within a given time
4- Ceasing fire several hours every day to allow civilians to evacuate to the provided safe zones, while providing secure humanitarian corridors.
5- Contrary to some claims, every day dozens and hundreds of trucks of humanitarian aid, including food and medicine go through the Rafah crossing to to enter Gaza.
Claiming that Israel is preventing in some sort of way all of this is completely false.
What Israel did warn about, is that Hamas would take advantage of this to steal the humanitarian supplies for itself, and I'll get to it right away.
6- Allocating safe areas in certain parts of the southern Gaza Strip, where there will be no attacks in the near future, and where humanitarian aid will reach every day.
It's true that it's a relatively small area for 2 million people. And yes, of course being displaced sucks, but what else can be done when Hamas hasn't left almost a single piece of land in Gaza that is devoid of terrorist infrastructures?
During the past two months, we've seen Hamas acts: The humanitarian corridors, which Israel had provided to Gaza, were attacked and blocked (!!!) by Hamas, and they indeed as Israel had warned, stole the humanitarian supplies, while attacking Gazans who try to take some for their own.
If you want, I can provide sources.
Wanna hear another fun fact?
Hamas has pulled some of the water pipes provided by the UN to gaza out of the ground, and used them to build rockets.
And I'll give you another fact that you may not be aware of, but also on October 7, during the third wave, which is considered the deadliest one, hundreds and even thousands of Gazans civilians, and I mean, non-Hamas-fighters, invaded Israel, taking active parts, including the kidnapping of hostages, and killing innocent people.
One of the hostages who had been released, said that during his days in captivity, he had managed to escape from his captors, and the ones that turned him back in were Gazan civilians. Despite all of this, Israel is not acting out of any "retaliation" against the people.
And now, here's something that south Africa forgot to mention:
1- Hamas started the war, commiting their own version of 9/11 towards innocent Israelis.
2- The official Hamas charter contains quotes that explicitly call for genocide. Here I gathered just a very few of them:
- "The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the rocks and trees will cry out: 'O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him." (Article 7)
-"The day the enemies usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Moslem. In the face of the Jews' usurpation, it is compulsory that the banner of Jihad be raised." (Article 15)
- "Palestine is an Islamic land... Since this is the case, the Liberation of Palestine is an individual duty for every Moslem wherever he may be." (Article 13).
