The quiet subtle moments are good, then unfortunately loud sections become exaggerated and overblown given the style of writing. The same goes for the duet.
Il y a un problème d'accord de certaines cordes en effet mais le piano n'est pas entièrement désaccordé... Très étrange. Khatia n'a pas dû avoir le choix. Je lui conseille de voyager avec son propre piano, comme Horowitz le faisait en son temps, mais ce serait s'exposer à des comparaisons qu'elle ne pourrait pas soutenir... et puis je crois l'avoir entendue dire qu'elle n'était pas difficile sur ce point et qu'elle trouvait des qualités à chaque piano. Je me demande ce qu'elle a pu trouver à celui-ci... sans doute le mérite d'être là.

The first time that I have heard Khatia Buniatishvili play. Such a gifted musician. Her rendition of La Javanaise is soothing, charming and powerful.

There’s probably a break due to concerts being cancelled during Covid. Hope we get to hear and see many more performances. 🌾
