4K Tongariro National Park NEW ZEALAND ニュージーランド 紐西蘭 Part 21

The nearly 80,000 hectare Tongariro National Park includes the volcanoes Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu and has one of the most contrasting landscapes in New Zealand.
It is a gift from Maori chief Te Heuheu Tukino IV, who handed the park over to the New Zealand people in 1887. A good hundred years later, the Tongariro National Park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The Ruapehu 2,797m, the Ngauruhoe2,291 and the Tongariro 1,968 are quite impressive volcanic mountains. The huge massif of the Tongariro stretches for 18 kilometers; the classic cone-shaped Ngauruhoe is actually one of the Tongariro's breakout channels. Ruapehu had the honor of portraying Lord of the Rings Mordor and Emyn Muil in the film trilogy, and the almost perfect cone shape of the Ngauruhoe formed the basis for Mount Doom.
Emerald lakes, flowering mountain meadows and hot springs surround the largest volcanoes in the North Island and offer an astonishing variety of landscapes.
Smoking craters, extinct lava flows and hot springs make the hike an unforgettable experience.

Wonderful, one doesn't often associate New Zealand with such wide open vistas of such variety as you say too. Some of the cuts and fades with the drone and synchronised with the music were pure poetry.
