Hi everyone! I was so surprised by the amount of views I was getting on my other video about chemical engineering below👇
    • Chemical Engineering Q...
and seems like a lot of you guys are interested in majoring in chemE or already studying chemE (or have graduated), so I just wanted to go over a few things you can expect for your career at a plant. Like I said in the video, I still don't have a lot of experience in the industries, so this is just more to give a general idea about working at a plant as an engineer.
    Thanks for watching always!
Also... I really wanna change my channel name, so if you guys have any ideas, comment below for me!

I'm in my 5th month of working in ChE (just graduated in May) at a startup in Vancouver.
I've also had co-ops working at a plant (pulp and paper mill), food lab, and a hydrogen startup and everything you said is pretty accurate :)
Also lowkey wish I knew that 80% of the jobs are at plants before going into chemE. Wish I had seen a vid like this about 5 years ago - may not have changed my decision but it's good info!!

How's the work? And did you enjoy studying all that they taught in those 4 years? Did you love what you studied? I'm sorry for bombarding these questions at you, but I am a high school grad? and have received an offer letter for chem engg from a reputed university. Though my first preference had been cse, and chem was my 3rd, I'm really confused on whether or not to accept the letter.

Biomedical and biopharmaceuticals are a pretty big industry for chemical engineers. I’m from Massachusetts and medicine/biological jobs are the most common.

If u are into it, then u can apply for Chem engg.. If lab work is what u are interested in then, u don't get much through chem engg (maybe if u take thesis in chem engg, we can.. You can work as quality controller for that beauty production. Yet, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't work in other positions, as we, chemical engineering students, also learn how to make a company's organization, then, you can also work as manager or analyst.

I would like to take this opportunity to ask some basics questions and what does chemical engineering really do and what are those major subjects that I must study on it? Could I email you? Do you have a Gmail account? 💖 Thank you so much 🧡🧡

Chemical engineering is all rounder and there nothing specific you are doing. But if you are going into traditional chemical engineer roles, skill set such as ability to read p and id, sizing of equipment, optimization of process, designing of new processes to introduce new products to market, etc. Core subjects, fluid dynamics, heat and mass, thermodynamics, unti operation, final design project, etc. Usually, when chemical engineers graduate they can work at plant at remote sites. Some may work in the city. Some doesn't become engineer when they graduate, they become bankers, business executives, software or it engineers, etc. It is endless.
