    Good call on the juice. I always wondered how to get the fruit off the bottom. My mother use to make Jello with fruit as a kid i never ask questions, i just ate.

      My mother taught me to let the jello semi set, then take the drained fruit and mix it around and put it back in fridge. This is supposed to set with the fruit all evenly mixed with the jello. It works!

    With all due respect, the water should be ice cold not from the tap. Secondly, the gelatin should chill and be slightly thickened before adding the fruit not put in right after the cold water. That is what helps to keep the gelatin in suspension.

      @danrt50  Před 9 lety

    I bought 2 boxes of Jell O pineapple flavor. I cut some cubes of natural pineapple into small tubs, I did this same process (you don't have to study a master's degree to prepare jellies of this type either) in 750 ml of mineral water and surprisingly, it NEVER solidified. A little frustrated the next day, after having the tubs in the fridge for more than 12 hours, so as not to throw away the preparation I went to the supermarket for a couple more packages of flavorless gelatin from this same brand, I poured the previous mixture into a saucepan and I added the 8 packets of unflavored Jell O and it still didn't help. It was always liquid. I guess that the takeaway about all this is: I will never ever buy any Jell O brand preparations again.

    • @danrt50
      @danrt50  Před 2 lety +1

      actually it's the natural pineapple, contains bromelain, that's why it didn't gel. i think there's actually a caution on the box

    • @TheAvenox
      @TheAvenox Před 2 lety

      @@danrt50 I wanted to apologize for my previous comment. I felt very frustrated. I was researching a bit about jellies and this curious annihilating effect that the pineapple has when it comes into contact with it, preventing gelation. However, I don't know how my mother managed to break the laws of chemistry, but I remember a couple of times that she prepared my brothers and my pineapple jelly with natural pineapple chunks for snacks (and we are a family of seven sibling) I have asked my older brothers to be sure of that, just in case my memory deceives me, and they know It was pineapple in syrup, but no, they also claim that it was fresh fruit, among other things because my parents never bought canned fruit. Thank you very much for the information dear friendI really appreciate the time you took to write me the comment.
      By the way, I don't remember reading any note about this on the jellies packaging.
