I love my petzl actik core 450. It has been my primary headlamp for many years now. I use it mainly for hunting, camping and mechanical repair work. For intense task work I use the highest setting and unfortunately the 1.5-2hrs duration is usually not enough to last the duration of use. After that time it kicks down to low or medium then lasts quite a bit longer. After getting used to high for 2hrs it is annoying when it kicks down. So I recently got a Nitecore NU43 to be my primary and the Petzl will be my secondary. It will be perfect for that.
The Nitecore weighs only 41g more and has a 3400 mAh battery vs the petzl core which is 1250 mAh.
The advertised run time on this thing is 10hr at 600 lumens or 15hr at 300 lumens or 29hr at 100 lumens. And is IP68 water resistant. Crazy specs... I will definitely have way more light for the full duration of my activities now.
The petzl actic core will be a PERFECT secondary… compact and lightweight and durable.
    Cheers!

Been using my Actik Core A LOT!! since January 2017 almost everyday and it still functions with the original battery believe it or not although it doesn't last as long obviously but regardless still functions only problem is the rubber on top of the power button has finally worn away so I put some Scotch tape on it which does the job although now its harder to get it to power on and off so I just ordered another one off of Amazon, I'll keep the old one for a backup, this headlamp is by far the best one I've ever had! Light bright and tough, thought I'd try an Olight Perun 2- but it was like wearing a Sherman tank on my forehead compared to the Petzl and was already giving me problems with the power button after 25 days so I returned it... Petzl is Made in France not China... Lastly don't fall for the outrageous high lumen counts on the hundreds of china made lights you constantly see on the internet, once you've had both (Petzl and whoever) you will understand what I mean.🇺🇲✌️

That doesn't good Lee! Have you changed the batteries/charged it? If you have and it's still faulty then you'll need to contact the store you purchased it from. If you purchased it from us (Tom's Outdoors) please email contact@tomsoutdoors.com.au
