Thank god it didn't have the "no forgiveness" drama and straight out went to bakugou's sassiness even after apologizing. 2 things I hate in v!dkbk fanfics is izuku holding a grudge for too long and bakugou suddenly acting to nice to izuku after being forgiven.

There were many other ways to "protect" someone with words than bullying, Katsuki.
You didn’t want to protect him, not with the words you used and the acts you done.
It’s not protection, it’s simply betrayal.
It’s like "I suicide baited you but simply because i don’t want you to be killed by someone".
Words had meanings, that’s how we’re able to communicate in society.
And in my opinion, "You’re a quirkless loser !", "You will die in the exam !", "Pray to have a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive of the roof !" aren’t what we can called "words that can protect someone".
Plus, if you protected him, why did you beat him in front of your class, using you quirk (which is already illegal as he didn’t possessed a provisional license at that time) ?
Why didn’t you protect him from the bullying of the class and the adults ?
Because if you really wanted to protect him, i guess you would at least protect him from the others.
So in my opinion, Katsuki’s excuse is complete bullsh*t, all of his actions contradict a will of protection.
