I really like my Fossil Hybrid HR... I wear the Samsung Active 2 most of the time but when I want the look of a traditional watch, I use this one and don’t lose my favorite smart watch features of fitness tracking and weather.
Had this for about 6months and I never liked a full blown smart watch, very clear E-Ink display and has a blueish backlight when not. Simple notifications displayed and really that's all I need. Battery last around 2 weeks which is great. Anything you feel is missing your phone is with you anyways. Looks like a classical watch but for the new age. Only thing a bit iffy is the water resistance which is not stated, probably won't recommend swimming in it or even showering. Getting up in the morning and heading out on cold mornings gives a foggy glass on the inside with a bit of condensation build up. Overall 4.5/5
I have had the fossil hybrid watch for about 2-1/2 years. I really liked the simplicity of it compared to the fitbit which caused me to become a bit obsessed with it. Along with the constant battery charging. That’s what intrigued me about the hybrid. Simple, effective and long lasting battery life. However I did find myself going back to the fitbit occasionally for the hr monitor. Then just a week ago I got this one. It’s the perfect combination of the two. Simplicity of a traditional watch and yet has the abilities that I need from a smart watch. For me it’s perfect.
I’m waiting for my diver model with rubber strap I ordered. This is my fist step into the smart watch direction. My collection is dive watches and Casio G Shocks. Great video 👍🏻
I'm considering getting this watch, coming from a Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions that might help my decision. 1) What does the vibration feel like for notifications? Is it a loud buzz that's very audible in a quiet room or is it more of a subtle nudge that you just feel on your wrist? 2) How does the timer work? Is it easy to set a timer for say, 18 minutes? Something not a multiple of 5, for example. 3) Does your phone still buzz/ring when connected to the watch? With Wear OS, notifications on the phone are muted when the watch is connected which is great because my phone doesn't buzz in my pocket and my watch on my wrist at the same time. Thanks in advance
Hey John, let me try to help here: 1. the vibnration is rather quiet, but you can well feel it. 2. The timer has default increments of 5 minutes, but is also very easy to adjust to values that you need. 3. Yes, the phone rings, and the watch vibrates for notifications when received. Even if you don't hear the phone if it is inside the pocket and you are outdoors on a noisy street, there's a great chance to feel the vibration on your wrist. You can have your phone silenced and rely only on the watch vinbration.
I love this watch. It's not perfect. Just picked it up yesterday and already one thing I don't like is light. Just should have used button to turn on the light. Double tapping for light only works 50%. But this watch will push other competitor to improve on their battery life. Also love Samsung Fit2 for their battery life.
Hi, Thank you for the tips. Great contents! Is it difficult to change the strap? I'm thinking to buy the stainless one with extra leather strap. And one last question, Do the watch hands glow in the dark? Thanks!
I think this (or maybe the waterproof TicWatch Pro 2020) MIGHT be the (not that)smartwatch I have in mind. I had the TIMEX DATALINK USB 851 that your could synch your Outlook calendar appts with notifications, contacts, and a few alarms but that's now obsolete. Does this calendar app synch with Google or Outlook or is it an entirely separate program that also has to be maintained? That could be a deal breaker.
I think you have won me over with this, i have the Samsung gear sport and as much as i like it, i do crossfit but i dont really measure my activities as much as i should, i mostly use my watch for notifications and the time or controlling my music. recently i have been considering going back to a normal watch but worried ill miss my gear sport, i have considered the active2 but i cant see much of a difference when it comes to software changes to my current watch which still works great and still gets updates. this watch is the best of both worlds, however im worried the ink display will bug me lol :/ I had a pebble watch and i hated it.
Hmm, this will be a tricky choice! If you didn't like Pebble watch, you may not be a great fan of this one either. But on the other side - one of the few good ways to mix regular watch with smart features.
@@TechMishka I've watched and read a few more reviews and I've decided I'm going to wait on the new Samsung watch 3. Because I really didn't like the pebble screen and I don't want to fork out all that money and not be happy, but thank you your review still helped. I could go into a shop to look at it but I'm trying to avoid shops at the moment with the current situation 😬
You can't reply via text only to phone calls (and you can only use quick responses. In the settings in the app, you can move the battery icon to any 3/6/9/12 position. It is customizable.
I think that after all these years I have finally found a valid replacement for my pebble time round, which battery is last just a day now. Good timing then, and finally a maker smart enough to see the high potential of e-ink! If only fossil would have acquired Pebble instead of these dumbs from Fitbit... Thanks for the review which seems to confirm that I am the target for that smartwatch. 🙂
This is a great watch - best part is the battery life - I just cannot charge every day so this two weeks battery is perfect - got it for a good discount.
I dont feel tempted to pay a lot more money for apps that dont seem that useful. I could just pull my phone out and do it 100x better. Meanwhile, I can see my steps time heart rate and weather at all times. And when Im not at work I just have lewd pictures of anime girls as my watch face.

Fair point. Same here! 😊

Excellent summary! Comments like yours are precious - seeing how the watch feels after months of using it. Stay safe and enjoy the Hybrid HR! 🙃
I have one, its amazing, it dose what it should without any problem, its elegant and everything you just sead

Totally agree with what you say. It is an excellent device for basic fitness tracking.
This is by far the best review video on the Fossil HR Hybrid Smartwatch that I’ve seen, thank you 🙏
Glad it was helpful!

Good choice! Perhaps not as attractive as the G-SHock series, but I think you will like it 🙃
one of the best videos related to the item! thank you!

Yeah, I also wish it was a button function!
Beautiful video editing , a benchmark . Keep doing your best 👌🏾
Thank you! Will do!
how is haptic feedback in this watch and is there any connectivity issue i.e. watch remains connected all the time with phone?
The vibration was good and I was able too feel it every time.
As for connectivity - had no issues at all with Oneplus 7.
I had a question! I haven't bought any watches for a long time, I have been surfing a lot and I love fossil hydbrid hr, do you suggest I go for it?
Yes I do! A wonderful watch indeed.
Why does the green light at the back keep glowing? Moreover how can I put the watch to rest when I'm not using it?
It glows when it measures.
What do you mean "putting the watch to rest"?
@@TechMishka I mean if I'm not using it for a day or two why does the battery keep draining off?
Hi, Thank you for the tips. Great contents!
Is it difficult to change the strap? I'm thinking to buy the stainless one with extra leather strap.
And one last question, Do the watch hands glow in the dark?
Thanks!
yes watch hands glow
Yeah - the hands glow. As for the straps - they are very easy to change.
I'm still gonna go with a smartwatch, Great review.
Haha, fair enough! 😊
How fragile is the glass and so I need a protector?
You will be fine without a protector.
could you please provide the watch strap link
Cannot find it right now...

The calendar syncs with google calendar and is pretty good. Outlook can sync with Google Calendar, so it can be synced with the watch too.
Hello, when will be review of firefly 9?)Can’t wait
Once it is released officially, I will test it.
Tech4All it’s already released, you can buy from their website.
with which charger to charge .. with 1A? or?
It is way less than 1A. So any kind of USB charger will be fine
Is notification done thru vibration ? Can you control vibration intensity?
Yes, there is vibration. I can't recall about the vibration intensity adjustment - cannot recall seeing it in the options.

Why not a 100% e-ink face? That would give more battery life and more face design options. Monochrome is nice!
Maybe the next one will be with a bigger e-ink screen.
Have u changed the battery?
Nope...
Brand new Fossil Hybrid HR Neutra I got for 100$ :)
Can you answer/receive calls on this watch?
You can't
Hey Michael bro how are you? Hope you are fine & safe..... Very good & honest review..... Love u bro☺☺💖💖🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
Thank you so much 😀 All good here. Staying home most of these days. How are you?
Is there a manual reset on it? I have the Charter HR and it just froze on me
Usually some of the buttons should do that - press and hold for more than 10 seconds.
1)how do u reply to sms messages? 2) how do u display the battery pct on face watch all the time at 6oclock position?
You can't reply via text only to phone calls (and you can only use quick responses. In the settings in the app, you can move the battery icon to any 3/6/9/12 position. It is customizable.

Honestly, nothing is really a meaningful replacement of Pebble, but that watch is in fact good 😇
Can you show me the brand of that watch strap?
It was a very cheap strap I got with Senbono S10.
Can you put the digital time in one of the spots on the screen.
as far as I remember - no.
You can but you have to set the second timer as your own zone and set it up on your watch face
Are the watch faces customisable? Like, I don't mind monochrome, but, are the options just too bare bones?
You can customize the kind of data being shown, and replace the background image.
Hey! I am from India. Great review man, very professional! much love
Awesome, thank you!
how often does it update temperature ?
from time to time :) I think it syncs every hour.

Indeed a great one! Where did you find that discount?

Is heart rate sensor accurate?
It is.
I found one for €125, is this a good deal you think?
Pretty good deal if you ask me!
A like it a lot but, in my opinion, is too expensive. Excellent review.
Thanks for watching!
Just a heads up, there's a typo in the title (battery).
Alex Richards In addition to “battery”, there is also a quote after the word “Fossil” that shouldn’t be there.
Thank you guys! I was quite sleepy when doing the metadata part and looks like I've done a lot of mistakes.
