    Thank you for the great info. I just recently purchased a HDs 9 live 3-in-1 and have it all hooked up in my boat. I am running it as a stand alone unit I don't have it hooked up to any network. I was told if you run a 3-in-1 transducer only you should have it plugged into Channel 2 on the back of the unit. When I do that my down scan and side scan work fine but the 2D does not work there is nothing showing on the screen except for the depths on the side. It is not reading the bottom at all. Any help would be grateful thank you.

    Hey Gino. I got a new boat about 6 months ago that came with two HDS 12 units and Active Target. Been really struggling getting the units dialed in. Starting to wonder if they were installed correctly. Something isn’t clicking for me and ready for some serious help. I live in Clermont.

    I run a Ti2 at my helm. It has the 2 and 1 active imaging transducer. Could I set my down and side scan at 100 feet and just leave my frequency at 800 like you were saying and still keep that good detail image and not miss anything? Or does that only work for the newer models? Thanks

    Really helpful. I have an elite ti2. Question - can you explain the mode settings on the sonar (shallow, general, …)

    • @GinoLosi
      @GinoLosi  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Absolutely. Your units were designed for fresh water. You will want to leave it set to general if your fishing lakes. Shallow widens the cone and will not give you the defined image of fish and a much less accurate reading of the bottom composition.

    I want to find a mast which fell from a sailboat (aluminum at a depth of +- 20M. Is this a good device for that purpose or are there better or cheaper options.

    Have a question. So I have an hds live 9 and as well I want to upgrade my 3 n 1 active imaging transducer to a hds pro transducer. So technically your saying I need to buy a box? To connect everything. Which box would that be exactly?

    • @GinoLosi
      @GinoLosi  Před 8 měsíci

      I've never used my units at that depth, I fish natural florida lakes and rivers. I spend the majority of my time in 20 ft or less.

    Is there anyway to do water level correction for winter time draw down lakes? Besides depth shading?

    • @GinoLosi
      @GinoLosi  Před 4 měsíci

      You'd have to record your Silesian and upload it to c maps. They might have it available for free in social maps.

    • @jacklowe7812
      @jacklowe7812 Před 2 měsíci

      I've been under the impression from asking and searches the Lowrance units can't (don't) have that feature for lake level. I haven't figured it out anyway. From responses I've received, 'lake level' adjustment (i.e. winter drawdown) is proprietary to Humminbird only. Which doesn't make any sense to me at all as to why other fishfinder company couldn't simply add that to their charting.

    So does cmap come built into the HDS live? Do I need a map card ?

    • @GinoLosi
      @GinoLosi  Před 7 měsíci

      If your unit doesn't have e it, you can either buy a card or download free community maps from your phone to your unit. You would need a sd card for that option.

    On DownScan and SideScan, why does Navico/Lowrance (all brands?) waste all that screen real estate displaying the big black "dead zone" of the center of your boat, the keel, etc...why not stitch together the actual port-starboard screens and maybe just a black line down the middle ? That displayed dead zone should be minimizable. 🤔
