- In this vid I break down one of my favorite techniques for spring time fishing. The floating worm is a very old but productive ways to land giant bass. Both Largemouth and Spots love these baits. Thanks for checking out this vid and don't forget to like comment and subscribe. #Floatingworm #springtimefishing #spawningbass #markdanielsjr #mdjfishing

Mark Daniel's. Jr. The only guy in bass fishing man enough to fish a pink bait on pink braid!!!!! You're the man Mark.
😂😂
@@MarkDanielsJr Real men don't use pink, but when we do, we call it FUSIA!!!
MDJ dropping straight knowledge on us. I appreciate you sir!
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks, young man, It has been a while since I've thrown this bait as it was the first bait I learned to catch em on in the early 80's. Thanks for the refresher course. I appreciate you, sir.
Watched this video last night and caught a largemouth bass on a bubblegum floating worm today! Thanks for the tips man
Thank you Mr. Daniels! Been doing the old school since the 60’s, when I was young I couldn’t hook the worm properly so it would run straight, it definitely darted all over, nice touch!
Congrats on the recent success. I hope for nothing but the best for you and your family in the future. Stay up brother ✊🏾💯
Can’t wait to see you in NC!
Love it thanks Mark
Great vid Mark. Thank you for the info.
Definitely going to try it this weekend... great info MDJ.
Still one of the best spring baits! Been using them since the 80’s. But the Slug-go’s ,then the zoom fluke became very popular. An the main reason people went to those two wasn’t that they catch more fish but the main reason is that u could throw them a mile with baitcasting rods an reel.
Giving this a try! Thanks OG!!
Thanks for sharing this have been wondering how to rig it up especially after seeing you use it at Lake fork catching those slouches, going to try it this week!👍
Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Thank you for sharing mark, by far my favorite angler keep up the good work.
Thanks for the info MDJ! I’m always trying to learn. Grew up Texas rigging a worm and throwing a.rattle trap. Keep these videos coming.
Good presentation ,thanks
Same color nose hook but I add a split shot about 2’ back n nose hook the worm n fish it on weed edges love that bait or take split shot off n fish the shallows too
Good info brother. Gives me different ways to try things. Keep up the great work
I remember that tourney!! So close!! Dope vid 👊🏾
Good stuff ,thanks Mark 👍
Thanks a lot MDJ.
You put a spot light on that sneaky hole at Fork, now everyone and their the dog fishes it. I could always count on catching some good under tournament fish in there but now can't get close to it with out a waiting line. It's all good though plenty of water for everyone.
The only downside to live, the Internet etc. It only make you a better angler💯
Excellent. It's time for it no doubt.
I love it when the homie says “mines”!👊🏾
👊🏻
Great advice Keep it going you learn something every day 💯💪🏿
Thx Mark .. great info
Very informative video! Keep them coming.
This video was very helpful. I never tried this technique but I've you have a lot of success, and it looks good coming through the water. Will definitely give it a try this year. Thanks!!!
Good info Mark gotta use this technique this spring
Good info MDJ! I already have it rigged to try this Michigan spawning season!
Great info. Thanks.
Nice technique! Old Skool, MDJ! 👍👍👍
This video got me pumped up.
Glad your back bro !!!!
Good Job Mark. Happy New Years Fam.
thank you sir! totally agree on the FG union knot which I practiced first tying with leftover thin paracord until it became easy and fun to tie...
Watched the clinic from last year, 85lbs in one cove. I'm struggling with it still. Oh well. Good luck in Texas I'm rooting for you and my home town Otter. Smash it. 👍
You’re really a good teacher I like the way you percent everything you taught me how to use it forward, facing sonar rock it down in such a way I understand and you help me on this. Thank you very much you’re a kind man.
Great content love the attitude
I was watching that event. You cleaned that pocket out on the worm. I love the Magnum Trick Worms.
Been waiting on this video bro!!!
I left a red ribbon tail worm in a bag with some green pumpkin zoom trick worms . That red bled into that green and made the craziest color and design and I had a field day throwing it like that
My favorite technic to do in the spring too. Keep rolling Brudda Love ya man
Don't forget....if you put a kink in the pink use a small barrel swivel a foot ahead of rig...CYA..
Thanx M, tenn. B big fan
O know MDJ you give up the juice!!! 🛎🛎🛎
Just bought a few of those Danny Joe's worms! Thanks for that info👍
Floating worm has been a staple on Clark Hill for over 30 years. We used a swivel and a 18" leader in the ol' school days because of line twist on your spinning reel with mono. Braid has mostly done away with that. It works 7 or 8 months out of the year here. Good job Mark, keep it up!!!
Favorite way to fish
Bruh, I have been screaming this bait to my subs for years. People STILL overlook this thing. Absolute fire bait if you have shallow bass. Great Vid!
Exactly... I love the bubble gum, just got some white and dipped the tails n chartreuse now I'm looking for the red'ish color
I been waiting on this one ☝️
Thanks for the helpful tips. Me and Pinky about to go to work this Spring.
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Definitely will try this at my home lake👊🏽
THANK. MR. MARK. DANIELS. You are a super great. Teacher for. Black bass fishing. Very. Though and. Clear and to the. Point. That's. Mark. Gene from. California. Delta. What. Super. Fishing. Pro. You. Are
Love the content brother.
Nice
I remember Woo Daves throwing the pink floating worms way back, showin my age. Great info hereMDJ
Been a great technique for ages 💯
between this and your live scope set up
Awesome vids 🤙
Good video. I love the floating worm. I need to try the bubblegum color. I’m still just using green pumpkin or watermelon red. Pretty much just my shaky head worms.
Good luck tomorrow on Travis bud! I've had the pleasure and the pain of fishing Lake Travis for quite a few years. Mostly pleasure now since I've figured a lot of them out. This technique is not used nearly enough on Travis and the other lakes in the area, but is deadly. Thanks for sharing! I also keep up with your old California State Team teammate who lives about 40 miles away from me.
MDJ on here spitting knowledge and killing the game as usual! Good Luck on Sam Ray! Pulling for you!
🙏🏾🙏🏾
I gotta feeling Mark going to showout next year an i hope he does..... You Da Man MDJ
New subscriber here . I just want to say I really enjoyed the video and found it pretty informative.
Thanks fam, I'm a subscriber, and will be using this technique alot more
I also have some if your SB-57 squarebills, and THANKS for responding.
Hell yeah!!!
Think I should give the trickworm a shot at lake Martin this weekend
I prefer the round hook gamikatsu also. Lost alot of big fish with the ewg. I threw all them ewgs away
Great info! No swivel? These things flat out work. Thanks for sharing. Rick
I don’t like a swivel, one more place for failure. FG knot all the way
@@MarkDanielsJr Very true. One less potential trouble spot. Thanks.
Maaaaaaaarrrkkkkk!!!! 😎🤙🏿🎣
It’s been a long time since I have fished a floating worm. I need to bring it back.
Yeah I can't wait for that other bait to come out you was using
I've never heard of that called a floating worm... thats really cool mdj. I've just known it as a unweighted texas rig.... your awesome btw I really enjoy watching you dc and wheeler... yall are a hoot and a half!!!! Keep it up and good luck at Sam Rayburn next week
Yessir, same thing different saying. Bottom line is it’s a killer. Thanks for checking us out we appreciate you 🤙🏾🤙🏾
@@MarkDanielsJr I watch you and wheeler and dc and Kyle Welch's religiously. You guys are an inspiration. I've always wanted to fish professionally just never had the self confidence. Until dc won redcrest... then I was motivated enough to do it as well, so this weekend is my first tournament ever... and that floating worm.is one of my tricks up.my sleeves.
Dude u could see the wake under that dock on that second catch.
Mdj, your thoughts on phantom spinning rod? Also wacky rig the floating worm now, it will pay dividends!
I like your video
I love the floating worm... if it doesn’t work, you can always switch to a fluke without changing setup
Nice. But i clearly remember you had tatsu leader during that event. Would you use gold label over tatsu?
I was using Tatsu at fork, but I’ve recently fell in love with Hold label. Try it and you’ll understand
Hey Mark, whats the best water temp. range to fish the floating worm in? And what color should you go with depending on the water color?
I start using it at 52 Ish. All the way through post spawn. I like the two colors mentioned here. No water color preference
Do a rate the lakes too from each state that’d be cool too!
Hey Mark! Do you not use a barrel swivel to help with line twist?
I do NOT use a barrel swivel
MDJ out Dropping knowledge...I watched your vid last year when you guys were here in Texas on Fork. You flat got some Younders on that bubble gum floating worm. Tell me would going straight braid have a major effect to the presentation?
I much rather Flouro leader but I’m sure it’d work.
@@MarkDanielsJr Can you explain why the Fluorocarbon to braid...is it that Flouro sinks faster than braid? Or is it a sensitivity issue or what? Just curious as I'm getting back into Bass fishing started back last June. And trying to get as much information as possible. Thanks.
Nice video. Where can get some floating worms? Thanks Any certain type
Check bass pro shops , if not there directly from Zman 👍🏾
How long leader do you use . The longer the more eyes it's got to go threw. Think I heard it when you threw once. But need it long enough to retie. Thanks
A general rule of thumb for me is the length of my rod. So approximately 7 to 8 foot 🤙🏾
I use two use two circle hooks snelled an bent it
What is the difference in the leader material and a regular spool of the line? Many of them have the same name
The types of resin they use to build the line.
MDJ, I fly line my worm most of the time but not a floating worm. What brand do you like to use? I will be watching you on live stream at the stage one MLF tour on Sam Rayburn. 🐟🎣
Mostly Z man but I also use Berkeley, Zoom and a host of others 🤙🏾
@@MarkDanielsJr thanks Mark.🐟
Tried it for the first time last year after you smashed it at fork. Caught fish that weren't even ina feeding mood
MDJ... No doubt you crushed on this rig but talk to me about a set up for the Dirty Delta 🎣 What / how would you go about it ?
Do u not use a swivel to keep it from twisting?
Markey mark why dont ya put a swivel on their ? Lots of line twists during the day without a swivel ! Just wondering why you dont use one ???? Thanks
I don’t have an issue with line twist when I tie a FG knot to my fluorocarbon leader
@@MarkDanielsJr got it thanks for replying ! Stay safe my man !!! Make sure DC buys the beer for the rest of the year! Lmao !!
The Floating Worm Produces straight #Younders
Do you wacky rig a float worm?
I remember you killed in that cove lol
How long of a leader do you typically run?
7-8ft leader
👀👀👀👀take this one down bro 😂😂jk
🤣🤣
Mark, try the RP knot. Check it out! 😃
What water temperature do you start throwing this ?
52 😬😬
How long to you make your leaders?
7-8ft
Man I never see that color in stock... anywhere!
Bubblegum bubblegum bubble gum ain't nothing like the bubble gum
