This is one of the best bands EVER ... I have seen them literally hundreds of times, and every time was worth it! There music is as relevant now as ever. If you don't have their last twenty years of music, you are really missing something. My personal favorite band of all time, including the Beatles, etc.
I have always felt that the band "America" has been kind of underrated even though they have been very successful over many years. Not sure if they have even been considered for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
Fine interview; as to influences, however, I think they were a bit disingenuous: CSNY, at that point, the biggest band on the planet, were an enormous influence on America, and much of America’s success could rightfully be attributed to helping fill the void of new CSNY music due to their endless inter-band squabbles plaguing their recorded output.

I seen America twice . Also been to Andersen Air Force Base. Guam . I served 1981-1985 . Never Forget Guam 26 miles around the whole Island .
