This clarified for me that balks are confusing! 😕 Helpful explanation!
This is a good basic explanation of balks.
One of toughest things about spotting them is that you have to be close enough or in the right position many times. Tough to see a twitch from the stands or the step toward first base if you're not where the first base ump is standing.
A pitcher who issued a walk
Saw his coach coming out for a talk:
“If you can’t throw a strike,
You can go take a hike!”
But then he proceeded to balk.
If you blink one too many times, it's a balk.
If your nose is a bit runny, it's a balk.
If there's kale stuck in your teeth, it's a balk.
Unless I misunderstood you you're incorrect about one thing you are allowed to fake a throw third base and or second base, and if you do either of these you can then thow to 1st or even fake throw to 1st as long as you clear the rubber after your fake to 3rd or 2nd base, but otherwise good video.
