We owe Shelley an apology, she went through all this shit and produced a fantastic performance in a timeless movie, and all she got was a nomination for worst actress.
That poor woman, that performance was absolutely superb but so traumatizing, and it’s all anyone wanted to talk about. She created quality television for kids and the young at heart but that never was/is talked about
Shelley Duvall is down to earth versatile actress I did NOT like Kubrick's verbal abuse towards her I would have treated her like a queen a lot of women were verbally abusive towards me in high school which led me to low self esteem but I manage and I live . Wish I could 😘 you .
Shelley Duvall did an incredible job playing the character "Wendy". You could see that, even though she suffered at the hands of Stanley Kubrick, she gave her all. All in the name of work. She was phenomenal. She deserved to have won an Oscar for her work. There are few actors who can express all their emotions with just one look. And both Shelly Duvall and Jack Nicholson, managed to express fear, terror and psychopathy with just one look. 'The Shining' really gave us characters that we can really identify with: Ordinary people, not those stereotypes of hot people in horror movies.
RIP Shelley. I'm actually mad at how the internet has created this picture that Shelley was abused and scarred by her experience on the Shining, including one short that used audio from this video out of context. Goes to show that people will follow a narrative they like rather than the truth

This is like the last interview where she's her old self.

They put this poor woman through hell. I will never criticize her performance in this movie.
