RE: SkyClub access for domestic D1 pax, it's worth noting that it has to be sold and marketed as actual D1 in order to have access. I.e. the D1 JFK-SEA or JFK-LAX flights. There are a lot of domestic flights using D1 equipped birds right now, such as a recent MSP-SEA flight I was on, or pretty much any flight from West Coast to HI and those aren't given access to SkyClubs.

Right you are, I got in with my AMEX for this flight, since it isn’t an actual domestic D1 flight.

Delta one transcontinental is shell of what it used to be. No way of comparing these products accurately

I fully appreciate that, and I tried to be clear about what Delta One domestic would normally comprise of, but it is a comparison of this moment in time. I will be more than glad to go back and fly them again once service levels have resumed!

Nice review. I’m supposed to be doing AA Transcon flagship business on the A321 in a February (JFK-LAX), but not sure if US travel will allow by then.

BTW nothing wrong with beer or wine for breakfast 😀

I hope you can make it, AA is still doing a nice job on that route. My Flagship First review on the reverse (LAX-JFK) will be up in two weeks. Actually finishing the review right now!

The privacy divider behind the seat is pretty low.

A330 is like the 777-200's twin...so identical in length, size, range, except the 777 is a tad larger but almost identical

I love widebodies but comparing the 777 to the a330 is just that a comparison. next to the queen of the skies the 777 and even dreamliner all flight wise out perform the airbus for me. I feel like I get motion sickness from the swaying on the airbus opposed to not feeling anything on the Boeings. airbus are a bit cheaper and from a airline point cost saving but as someone that flies a lot I woukd rather not be on a airbus even those Embraer 170-190 fair better for me lol. beautiful plane nonetheless

Sadly, I don't believe that the U.S. legacy airlines will ever go back to delivering long haul domestic, first-class service. Not that domestic-first has been that great in recent years. I have managed to keep my American Airlines Executive Platinum status for 2021. My travel international travel is deemed necessary. As I fly out of MIA to Europe, I find that SWISS offers the best business service to Europe as of the time of this comment. I do enjoy your videos. Thank you! G

For better or worse adversity breeds change. Service cutbacks could remain long term or a new spirit of competition could emerge to try and corner the market coming out of the pandemic. I certainly hope we end up seeing some of the latter!

Wow junk food for first class passengers. I'm wondering when this covid thing ends they will keep doing this instead of regular hot meals. I wouldn't put it past them they like to save money.

They recently announced the middle seat blocking to extend through March, so I would anticipate service levels to remain the same through then as well also. The other three airlines I flew all still offered hot meals though, so they may feel the pressure for at least their domestic Delta One cabin at some point!
