    Just got a Vino 125 and Mitch’s videos have been excellent!!! I had trouble reinstalling my exhaust because it was damaged from a previous wreck. I hammered and pried it the extra 5mm it needed to line back up with the mounting points on the block, because I can’t afford 200-400 for a replacement exhaust. I’m quite satisfied with the results from removing the emissions system. The acceleration is much more linear. Before there was a noticeable hesitation at around 10-30mph, but now it’s nice and smooth 👍👍

    I removed the emission from my 2008 Vino (this after I installed Dr. Pulley sliders). Mitch rocks. Good instructions. Quieter, faster, Speed Racer. We're still not polluting as much as the Koch Brothers. Minimal I'd say. Good stuff. Thanks.

  • @mlindsay527
    @mlindsay527 Před 2 lety +3

    I’ve looked over the emissions system and don’t see anything that would limit power other than perhaps the catalytic muffler restricting flow. Only reason I can see for the performance increase was perhaps the carb pulling more fuel with the vacuum hoses capped off. A larger jet in the carb would probably achieve the same result. A free flowing muffler and carb rejet would probably be the easiest engine upgrade for more power. And of course variator tuning can really improve a bike for your riding conditions, ie flat or hilly. A windshield can give a couple more mph on the top end as well.

    • @mlindsay527
      @mlindsay527 Před 2 lety

      After thinking on it some more, maybe the EGR could reduce performance a bit. I might try pinching it off and see if it makes any difference…

    When I removed the vacuum line from the part you labeled to “just leave there” the whole thing popped apart and pieces fell out, i think I put it back together correctly but does anyone know what that part is? I figured it’s a breather valve or something, can I just remove the whole thing? It appears to just lead to the gas tank.

    Thank you for you videos ,,,I have 150cc chinese scooter, running great, new carb, I decided to do an upgrade and add a uni intake, I used a custom raidiator hose to fit under the frame,and remove some emisions, and stock airbox, I changed main jet from 103 to 108 and no matter where I move the idle or mixture screw, it starts, then just dies and after 30 secs no warning, it gets very boggy on throttle and when I took it down the street it was not as fast and was a bit "chuggy" and "bucky" this happened with 100, 105 and 125 main jet, the vaccum hose from the manifold is connected the same and the PCV and the other emisions vent that were going into the old air box are just vented into the air and zip tied to the frame, do have any idea what happened? The scooter was running great before I did a few things, could it be the needle? what do you think?

      @@samgrissom7274 The one I purchased is called Trkimal Metal Gas Fuel Petrol Tank for 50cc 70cc 90cc 110cc 125cc Roketa Taotao Sunl Coolster JCL ATA Baja MotorsportsVitacci BMS Buyang Coolsport Eagle Peace kazuma ATV Quad (Metal-B)
      on Amazon. It's made for a ATV/Go Kart but will slightly fit by using scrap pieces of flat steel/aluminum as brackets to center the tank close to the chrome housing. I got the filler neck to partially line up with the chrome housing (lip of cap rubs on the housing) and went to a local orileys autoparts store for the fuel line. (I believe I used 1 foot of Gates 4219XL 3/16" fuel line) But I would bring the entire tank to the parts store to confirm. The line included with the tank will not work and leaks fuel all over the place.
      I also ran an inline fuel filter (not from the tank kit) between the line coming from the tank to the line going to the petcock because the fuel line size is different but will fit on both ends of the fuel filter (that has a step sized male end). Because the tank doesn't have an evap line port, I deleted the entire system and plugged the carb port with a rubber vacuum plug (bought a random assorted box on amazon) The tank itself is vented at the cap. The tank capacity feels like it's between 1/3-1/2 gallon. I was able to travel close to 40 miles on a full tank and the fuel level was pretty close to empty.
      Hope this helps.
