Always included as a genesis of punk rock. Always. Pure energy.

We were crazy about this LA garage band in the 1960's. Their album Da Capo is stellar. Kind of psychedelic/rock/jazz. The B side of the album is an 18 minute continuous jam called Revelation. I remember Love performing it in our high school gymnasium one afternoon! I still don't know why they performed there. It was a total shocking surprise! Arthur Lee was awesome. Used to see their van around North Hollywood and over 30 years later I would see this guy with "7 & 7 Is" on his car's license plate. Finally shouted to him about it being a song by Love and he beamed back a big smile and said "very perceptive of you"! Don't know which band member it was. Still have a Da Capo CD in my car! I still love Love.

Great LA band. They have one of the all time best albums ever called Forever Changes.

Gotta check out their tune "Alone Again Or" from '67. From the best album I and many of my friends every heard "Forever Changes"

LOVE, one of the best 1960s bands ever. Some were as good, none were better.

This from '66. Love was an L.A. band. Very popular locally and in England. One of the first racially diverse bands. Arthur Lee was ahead of his time. The music at the end is very much considered surf music. Thanks, Shawn and Mel for reacting. Much love, always. Check out Robert Plant's cover in 2007.

The Ramones did a cover of this too. If you’re looking for the roots of punk rock-at least in terms of beat & tempo-it’s in this track and Led Zeppelin’s “Communication Breakdown.”

Listen to “Message to Pretty”. He (Arthur Lee) had range. God, I miss artists from the’60’s.

Congrats for discovering Love, one of the greatest bands to come out of L.A. in the 1960s. Now try "Stephanie Knows Who," "Orange Skies," "My Little Red Book," "Alone Again Or," and "Maybe the People Would Be the Times" for some other doors that need to be opened.

Da Capo - one of the finest album sides. The great Forever Changes followed. Silly, over the top reaction.
