Yes, but Indians are mostly rich immigrants. I lived in Rexdale/Albion area of Toronto before then moved to Brampton, Brampton is heaven compared to that area of Toronto. Crime occurred daily there with so many Somali and African gangs roaming streets. Brampton gets a bad rep for a large Indian/South Asian population, however if you look at Stats Brampton is much safer then so many bad areas of Toronto

I'm from the UK. We pretty much have everyone here. Immigration is inevitable now it seems. We have Indians here, who at least work. Then you have Africans, who spike crime, loot and leech off the system. They'll cry racism when they don't get their way. It seems like you've got to pick your poison. Trust me. You're doing better than us.

You didnt mention the overwhelmingly predominantly Indian population as a reason? My mother moved out because, as a non-Indian, she felt like a foreigner in her own country, sometimes the only white person on the street or in a big store and not understanding a single word that's being said around you. They're neighbourly and friendly towards each other but if you're not one of them, they treat you like an outsider. That alone would be enough to make most people move out of there. It's unfortunate.

@@kunntakentay I noticed you are moving to Brampton from Florida. I would gladly answer your questions and more about Brampton but due to political correctness my words would be misconstrued by those that now reside there as being racist. I can assure you I am by no means a racist and an immigrant myself. I lived in Brampton from 1977 - 1999 and have had to return periodically to date. I would advise you to research the city, it's demographics over the past 40 years and it's history in detail before moving there. The comments come across as being extremely negative, unfortunately, they are also true. In short Brampton has become a third world city in a first world country. Crime and violence was absent from Brampton, now it's common place. Look up the demographics of Brampton over the last 30 or 40 years and it will give you an idea of the problems the city is faced with. I would be happy to explain more in an e-mail but not in public. Sincerely, Simon PS I like your user name. That part of history will always be a travesty.

I was born in Brampton in 1954 and worked there all of my life, until I retired in 2015. I moved out of Brampton in 1982 because I could sense that it was becoming less neighbourhood friendly and a faceless suburbia. But, in 2007 I found a quaint home in downtown Brampton, near Gage Park and close to some nice downtown restaurants and moved back to Brampton, looking for the town that I had known in the 50's, 60's and 70's. But it didn't take too long to learn that you "can never go home" and that the Brampton of my youth had changed forever. Once bitten, twice shy. In 2017 I moved out yet again, knowing that I will never call Brampton home again. I guess that is progress!

Batphink Reynolds I wouldn’t say racist but you have an interesting way of thinking lol. I grew up in America. In Georgia. My school had 2 whites kids . Those were the only two whites people I saw until I was 15. Then I moved to Oklahoma and was surrounded by mostly Mexican, white and natives. My thought was never “wtf speak English”... I thought their language was cool and wanted to learn it. I learned a decent amount of Spanish and picked up some Native American tribal words as well. In turn they picked up Ebonics/slang from me and we’d all joke around and speak like each other in funny voices. You can’t get mad at someone for connecting more with someone that reminds them of home... think about it, if you moved to a a new country and ran into a friend of your family you would probably form a group with them and talk to them in your language just to feel familiar. There is nothing to be fed up with, either try to make a genuine effort to accept people of all cultures or get frustrated when they don’t want to assimilate and abandon their culture to wash themselves with yours. They’re allowed to have both. Just like my friends never tried to change my country accent and slang when they didn’t understand what I was saying to other black People & I never felt left out when I sat at lunch with a table full of Mexicans speaking Spanish. If I did I would just jokingly say “wtf are you saying” and they’d speak to me. Its easier for some of them to speak their language vs speaking slower . Some have perfect English and some literally just moved a few years ago and still speak better Spanish

Eu nunca vi um indiano falar mal do país deles. O segundo grupo aqui é jamaicano, também só trazem coisas positivas de um país mais pobre que o Maranhão!!
Eu morei 27 anos no Brasil e jamais fui assaltado.

This is straight up Bull the reason people don't like Brampton is because its become a majority Indian city and has a lot of immigrants. Everywhere in and near GTA has become expensive, congested, and developed so unless you move far away from GTA this is just the reality for Ontario. Honestly I'm brown and live in Brampton and when you compare prices to Vaughn, Mississauga, Caledon, Milton, and Toronto (all the areas Surrounding) the prices in Brampton for the same home are lower. Its very odd to me that the only city that's known to be full with Indians is the least expensive/valued but most disliked. Also let me say one last thing living in Brampton compared to Mississauga or Vaughn those areas are known to be way less friendly and me and my cousins all prefer to live in Brampton because its a better community so the problem is just that people don't like that its become majority brown. Honestly first off I don't know this guy and I don't think anyone should assume hes prejudiced towards other cultures so lets give him the benefit of the doubt but from personal experience right now I live on a older street in Brampton where its all older white people and they all openly are moving out and don't like the city simply because more brown people are coming in so just saying...
