It’s a dry heat.
"'Take the shortcut,' he said. ' 'Tis only a five-day ride across the Calim Desert to Calimshan,' he said," the dwarf lamented.
"Calm yourself, Bruenor," Drizzt admonished. "We all need to conserve our strength."
"Tell me, oh mighty dark elf ranger, how much more do we have of this infernal heat and sand?"
Drizzt sat silent for a moment, certain the dwarf would not like his answer. "The captain told us in advance the ride would consume five days, but we are only on the third day--"
"Bah! Only the third day?! By the gods' hairy arses! This is taking too long!"
The party continued on their way, the dwarf complaining, and the elf attempting to soothe ruffled feathers, their rented camels barely upsetting the surface of the sand.
As the hot westerly breeze followed behind, moments later not a sign of their passage remained. It was as if they had never been there at all.

@@BlueSea538 8 hours of work, both ground and air vehicles used as well as 100% of our magic 5 times. This whole area is sopping mud now that almost looks more like swamplands than desert. We are resting, the sun is becoming high and will soon dry the place.
This is 3 and 18/20 entire miles of area that got this treatment.
Its all dried out now, like it had never happened.
