    Extremely well made. I have so much to learn!. Would love to see what happens postflop aswell.
    I'm probably doing tons of mistakes in the mid stack portion, not knowing how icm affects me, I just play my cards. I'm very happy to have found you guys! Had Premium for 2 months, really happy with it! I recommend you guys to anyone who ask.. or don't ask for that matter.
    Would also be cool to know how to punish as a big stack postflop. And some side notes on how to adjust against players who don't know they are under icm pressure. Alot of live players in my local club don't know what icm is, and is not adjusting to stack sizes. How do you play big stack against them ? both pre and post..

    the 6 bb opening spot reminds me of something Negreanu explained in a Polk podcast when he saw a player opening at the final table for 33% of their stack explaining more or less the same concepts. ;)

    Very nice video! In example 3, I think the reason 6 bb is better than shove is that you can still fold if the blinds both get it in. Otherwise it's functionally the same. And I would guess open limping would be generally better for button than minraising if it was added to the sim.

    This channel is the best out there at the moment for learning solid strategy in my opinion. I'm seriously considering a premium subscription based on what I've seen here. Thanks for all the great work, GTOW!

    In ex 3 if btn open 6bb and the other 2 shove, btn can fold a lot of hands actualy, thats way btn prefers to open 6bb instead of shoving

    • @FCarraro1
      @FCarraro1 Před rokem

      indeed. I heard Negreanu talking about this in a podcast with Doug Polk explaining more or less the same concept

      Good point! This line happens less than 1% of the time after we open, but it's great for us if SB gets knocked out and we can guarantee at least 2nd. I think there are multiple reasons behind this large opening strategy.

      @qwertz12345654321 Před rokem

      The 1% of the time matters a lot. Many tournament pros have adapted this or a simlar strategy. Bencb talks about it regularly in his streams. They call it "all in but one" or something similar. EP benefits the most from this strategy since it happens more often that multiple players go all in behind.

    Great stuff again, i believe that most mtt crushers knew this without knowing it. I made every major online final table and won a ton of online mtts and a few live playing very loose aggro, my strategy was to make my opponents have to play as many streets as possible, i would make the best decision more often then they would. When most were jamming over raises, i was making smaller 3bets and picking up a ton of dead money to be able to fade allins later.

    with the payout 80 20 20 example it's clear that ICM model is very limited without considering any FGS

  • @Adam27X
    @Adam27X Před rokem +1

    Instead of saying "~exponential" growth you could more accurately say "superlinear" growth. The exact rate of risk premium will depend on the scenario, perhaps it's quadratic, cubic, whatever. But with ICM it's always superlinear.

    I think the 6 is also genius because if sb shoves and bb calls then button can fold and sneak into 2nd

    In Example 3: I was the most curious for the case when BTN opens 6 and SB and BB both shove. You didnt really explain the advantages of opening 6 vs 10. If BTN was rewally to call of all the time there would be no advantage

    • @qwertz12345654321
      @qwertz12345654321 Před rokem

      There is actually a known concept that tournament players use called "all but one chip". Bencb talked about it often in streams

    On the Example 3, After BTN Open 6BBs, If SB goes All-in, and BB goes All-in too. Do we have folds?

    • @GTOWizard
      @GTOWizard  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes, in that case the BTN can get out of the way and potentially ladder
