- Today we take a first look at an all new pack for Train Simulator Classic. The package is the Class 85 and it is a freeware download which is available from Backdated Train Sim. We drive the included scenario and see what the pack has to offer. We are thoroughly happy with what has been produced here. Certainly a fantastic Christmas Present to the TS community. Well done indeed!

For me the main draw to TS classic over TSW is the amount of content. I like TSW and have been impressed with a lot of the features of those games but until I can do stuff in it like drive the entire ECML or WCML or Channel Tunnel and have dozens of trains modern and classic to use then TS Classic will continue to have the edge for me. It's the amount of 3rd party support and content that TS that keeps it alive and relevant TSW just doesn't have that yet
Great addition to the library! What I would really like to see are the BR AC Units, such as 304, 305, 308, 309, 310 and 312's .
The IHH model was of a class 82 (locomotive, not DVT).
EDIT: Oh dear! I see that 6.25kV pantograph myth is still doing the rounds! To be clear, both pantographs were connected to the same busbar and switching between the 25kV and 6.25kV was done by altering the tapping on the Transformer.
I really like this locomotive, I hope they will make the AL2 and AL4, The AL5 were mainly based in Scotland and ran between Glasgow and Crewe
The AL5s where allocated to Crewe electic depot. However the AL1s where allocated to Shields Road depot in Glasgow.
I'm glad this was for free, I glad this time 😌 it wasn't Payware for this as there's already enough detail and it's not top quality like AP so im glad this was for free.
@bustrainsguy7559 it can / will be made more advanced in the future, along the lines of the AP 86 EP. But it has to wait until I can get to Barrow Hill to photograph round the cab of 85006.
