I buy similar. I chop it, melt it down then pour into soap molds. When it cools I wrap in plastic wrap and set it on my shelf, cut as I need it. It is a lot of work but it’s satisfying when it’s all done and cleaned up.

Happy Caturday from Florida! I usually by the coco butter pastilles. I bought a small block of cocobutter recently. The block had a much stronger and yummier chocolate smell than the pastilles.

You could use a heat gun to heat the blade of a large chef knife and then just glide the blade right through. Reheat the blade as needed.

I could understand what you were saying at high speed. Love it. I have never gotten such a large tub of cocoa butter, but if I do I will try the double handled knife and have hubby help me cut into quarters and then I can go from there myself. I know I would get a workout! But you look like you were used to it because you went right thru it. 💪
I enjoyed watching how a hugh tub is cut and looks.

I love the smell of good cocoa butter. Baraka Shea Butter has some of the best cocoa butter and traditional coconut oil I have ever smelled! Together they make a lovely smelling cream. I add a little Tahiti Vanilla FO and it smells just yummy! In the US ours tend to come in square bricks which are pretty easy to chop up. I do as you do. When I get in 30-40 pounds I chop away. I use unrefined bulk cocoa butter in my soap and most the time I buy the refined cocoa butter in small disks for my lotions and creams. I often get my butters all in two hauls a year, in early spring and early fall to cut down on the melting. When it comes in I spend a whole day chopping lots vh of diffrent kinds of butters and putting it in buckets. I just did a spring haul of cocoa, shea, mango, Cupuacu, Murumuru, Illepi, and Sal butter in. It took several hours to pick it all apart and store it. Thankfully my oils come in 40# pails it makes that part easy. Especially the coconut and palm. I don't use olive oil, I use Sunflower oil. I like the skin feel and how it works in my soap bars better than Olive oil.

@@EdensSecret1 It's a little more expensive than most, but the quality and freshness, impress me the most. Supporting other women is really important to me personally as well. Get a small amount and see what you think. The shea has a very nutty aroma, I don't think I mentioned that before.
