The University of Ottawa Class of 2015 presents "Shit Med Students Say" Premiered at MedShow2012 Written andDirected by: Rita Hafizi & Chloé Corbeil Filmed by: Jonathan Keow Post-film production by: Cory Ozimok
The accuracy is strong with this one... You're always going to think you're gonna fail the exam until you see you didn't and then you're free to start stressing about the next one lol
This was so true. I hear "im going to fail" bon a daily basis so now I say im going to pass just to stand out from the crowd. There is also the wonderful parts where neither you or your bff know what the hell the lecturer just said
I am not a med student, but my sister is. I don't know about you, but my sis loves to diagnose me even though I am perfectly fine. I slightly cough and she is like "you have [insert a random disease name]". Also I am her little pest if she wants to exercise how to diagnose patients (doing that thing with stethoscope). I have nothing against doctors being doctors and them studying hard and doing hard work but my sis loves to tell me how I am lazy because I don't study the same amount as her (i am 18 and she's 21 and i am studying math for entrance exams for graphic design and she's studying medicine, of course my hard work is easier than hers but she's too stuck in her own head to realize that just because I don't work as hard as her doesn't mean I am lazy, I just have different responsibilities) Thank you for listening to my random TEDx talk, I just felt like ranting about my sister's arrogant behavior 🙄
even as doctors me and my friends are still comparing stethescopes.esp the rainbow coloured ones...ha ha . and everytime somebody cough we do ask them to go check for tb. soo true....and i also listen to my own heart ...yeah just to look for any murmur...just in case you know
Did they switch to Canadian from English at a certain point in their video? because at some points, I could not understand them. Other than that, you guys are magnificent.
Lmao, I have done and seen over half of these lol. I was the guy knocking things over lmao and saying I think I have this lol. And I can't pronounce hal the medical terms lol
That's because grades play the most important role in determining our admission to medical school. It's a lot harder than majoring in some liberal arts degree. I work my ass off to get an A in my science classes but I can easily get an A (without even trying) in my other non-science classes. And finally, it's "the dumbest" -- not "the most dumb".
I am a medical student and some of those scenes made me laugh. But i 've to say also that american/anglo medical students and generally anglo med formation really lack. I'm European, I'm italian and the way we study medicine, the years we take ( 6 not 4 ), the way to learn, what to learn etc.. is so different ! I don't want to say that it is better but honestly the anglo theoretical preparation is not enough, it's too pragmatic. At the opposite we suck into practice that here is inexistent !
ArianaLevine I'm literally just scrolling through the comments looking for people asking why they're speaking gibberish and then calling them "Des sacs de merdes"
The accuracy is strong with this one...
You're always going to think you're gonna fail the exam until you see you didn't and then you're free to start stressing about the next one lol
You're a Med student?
You're a Med student?
Joanna Rodriguez Yes (:
Can't agree more!
How did y’all cope? That sounds awful
hahahaaaa! I'm totally the guy with the oversized backpack accidentally knocking shit over
The Chiniese kid listening to his own heart tho was priceless....Bhaahahahaha he was so into it like he was at a club lol
Yeah that's me when I received my first stethoscope
Lol
the "gibberish" is French. They're in Canada
Lol he's jamming to his heartbeat 😂😂😂
Hahaha OMG the guy with the steth in the end XD
He probably found a murmur in himself too.
Haha yea he's probably just keeping in time to his first, second...and third and fourth heart sounds.
funniest was the dude at the end lmao
"Oh, my god! You have TB"

Thank you for listening to my random TEDx talk, I just felt like ranting about my sister's arrogant behavior 🙄
Based on the diagnosis that I got from my Med Student brethren, I am apparently currently dead...

the first 10 seconds, dead on... its free pizza! lol genius how they made med terminology sound like another language (which it actually is)
even as doctors me and my friends are still comparing stethescopes.esp the rainbow coloured ones...ha ha . and everytime somebody cough we do ask them to go check for tb. soo true....and i also listen to my own heart ...yeah just to look for any murmur...just in case you know

Did they switch to Canadian from English at a certain point in their video? because at some points, I could not understand them.
Other than that, you guys are magnificent.

We wasted 4 or more years in undergrad and have to work out a** off to make up for it. The medical education in this country is just terrible.
