- Got another build for ya 👀 Local guy, found me on IG. Said he already had a design for his sub, but wanted me to build it for him. Nothing fancy, just something that would disrespect his SUV a bit....🤔 I gotcha covered young man. Enjoy...!

valtteri aaltonen - 👌🏾 I try to always respond to my subs/viewers comments. I use to test all my boxes in the shop, but sold the each amp I had and never replaced it. Started testing in my personal vehicles. Finally have a couple amps back on the shelf, so I should be good now.

I use 3/4's birch, and glue the entire surface of the speaker mount.
NO need for a 800 pound box, my birch box is beautiful as well.

Just made my own for my american bass 15 inch.
17 inches tall
28 inches wide.
My bass port is like 3 inches or a little more. I tuned it to get decent lows, but also get really good mids, and highs in regards to sub notes.

Rock solid video man. How many cubes is the Box oh, it looks small in the video but you would know better than me. I've got a zvx V2 in a custom-built box at 3.6 cubes and tuned to 32 Hertz. I've been considering getting a bigger box built.
StinkyArmpit Bass - Thanks for the comment man 👌🏾 Box should have been right at 3.8cf/net, tuned around 34hz. Plays a relatively flat response, so output level is almost the same throughout the bandwidth. Yea, it looks small, but it’s definitely solid.

Last box I built for a 15 was a T-Line and that was a slamming beast that busted my windshield 😂

Luke Hollosy - Drilling the mounting screws at a slight inward angle, will give the screw more wood/material to pass through. Which will give added subwoofer mounting security, when screwing into place 🤙🏾
@@210Designs it's going to take a very large angle before that screw is able to bite any more material... Seems pretty negligible. and honestly those wood screws should be just fine by any means. especially since the subwoofer is on top the only thing those screws are really doing is just keeping it in place. They aren't even weight bearing screws.

Man that’s a good question. Skar doesn’t even have one for a 12” version on their website….smh. They do have the specs/requirements for one tho. You would need to plug the numbers into a box building program. I use this one when I’m double checking numbers. Built several off it 🤙🏽

liljuanito _ It I might man. Need to print off each subwoofer’s spec sheets and a side by side comparison. Be sure and check the recommendations on box tuning and Fs.
It'll work. You can take a 500 watt sub and put it in a big box and get good results. Depends what you want.
The real thing to worry about is going BELOW the required. Above it ain't too big a deal really. Most people get huge custom box's built.

Dr4620 - Ny wiring each coil independently to a terminal post, if the customer decides to the sub at a different ohm load (example: from 4ohm to 1ohm) He can do this without removing the subwoofer from the box. It can all be done at the terminal outside of the box 👌🏾
Question b4 I begin my build.. why is 3/4" most popular when 1" would be more sturdy, requiring less bracing, etc.
Brandon Lee - Yrs, 1” would be more rigid, repulses bracing. However, 3/4” is a common material thickness,when using building materials. Not to mention the added weight. Boxes built out of 3/4” mdf, birch or plywood, will be strong enough to hold 99% of all subs, if braced properly 👌🏾
210 / Designs I do framing work for a living I was going to purchase mdf but you’re saying 3/4 plywood with good bracing is just as good? Because if so I’m taking some scrap plywood from work tomorrow
semaj Keaton - Ig it were my personal box, I’d build it as cheap as possible 😂 I’ve used all types of materials and even mixed them together the same box 😆😆 Called it Frankenstein. 1/2”, 3/4” mdf, birch and plywood. Anything I had laying around the shop, cause I was broke that build! It’s posted on my IG and YT. Yes, if you brace it accordingly you should be fine man. Before you tell anyone what it’s built out of, play it for them first. Mental aspect will play a part in judgment, but the ears don’t lie 💯 Have fun with it bro.

I’m going to be running a Skar 1500.1 for a ZVX15 D2 and a Skar 1000.4 for mids&tweeds any suggestions on the best battery to run my system
That sounds like a monster setup 👊🏽 with all great products. *I didn’t know Skar offered a 1000.4 amplifiers now, I gotta check them out. I’m a big fan of getting the foundation (electrical) solid over everything else. Based on your setup, I would start with the upgrading your starting battery under the hood first. Go with the largest AGM they offer for your vehicle. I personally run XS power in mine and our customer’s as well. They take a beating and keep performing 💯 If your system still craves more juice, then look into upgrading your stock alt to a HO alt (240 or 270) either one should be more than enough. I like to use Mechman or Iraggi 👍🏽 FYI - I’m currently running a 1500.1 amp on 2-15s and a 250.4 amp on 10 loud speakers my work truck. XS power battery under the hood and a small XS750 in the rear. Stock alt and I have 0 voltage issues at 3/4 tilt 👍🏽 I’m on IG@210.designs for quicker responses. Hope this info helps bro!

I have the cut sheet for the main box, not all the outer pieces and double walls. She putting (2) of these monsters in her ride…Deezamn! @@ampguy6920 - The VXF 15 will perform great, using this same design. Tuned at 33hz, which will play the lows with authority. Box is 4cf/nt., so the (+).75cf in this box won’t even be noticeable, based on the recommended 3.25cf/nt. for the VXF 👌🏾

rowan sykes - I buy mine from Lowe’s and Home Depot. I buy full sheets (4’x8’) and cut them myself at home. I measure out and cut it in half, using a skill saw. Then I can handle the sizes and use my table saw to get my exact cuts. Hope this helps 👌🏾

I have a box building question. I understand sub specs if I were using just one sub, BUT what happens to the recommended specs when using 2 subs? Double the specs just as we double the internal airspace?? Do we double the Port Area too? Please don't guess whoever answers, am looking only for facts, much appreciated car audio pros. (About to build my first box and have been dabbling in Sub Box Pro and Win ISD.)
Brandon, just now getting to your comment bro...my bad 😔 I’m locked into a complete build/install currently. Yes, subwoofer specs are for a single woofer. So you are correct to double the air space listed for each added. *Keep in mind you can +/- this number a bit and still be fine. I use factory specs as a guideline when designing my enclosures. Port area is based on the box net internal cf. *Good rule of thumb for slot ports is 12”-16” port area (WxH) per box cubic foot. This will keep you solid 👌🏾 Tuning is based on the port length. I personally don’t do blue prints, because my designs are free when I have time 😰. Old school pencil and craft paper 😆 But I sketch out the box, specs and include assembly order. There are a lot of reputable people that sell blue prints tho. Type in CAF (car audio fabrication) on CZcams and it’ll pop up. Also, be sure and watch his vids, very helpful in anything car audio related. Plus he makes it easy to understand 👌🏾

It really needs a square brace inside the support all the middles of the box bro that sub will make that box flex still I built my box for my single twelve just like that lol

@@210Designs did you ever have that problem lol I didn't think the skar is that powerful the box I built is the same besides it's not a L port a guy I knew said zvxs don't like L ports idk about thay.. but I never had this problem before..

@@jacobfarrara5579 - No issues with that box or sub. Stayed in contact with him and he absolutely loved it. Never heard anything about L-shaped port issues either.
My box does I guess because it gets so violent the sub flexes the mdf on the parts of box where it's 1 layer thick I have never seen anything like it before that sub has been literally tearing everything thing up around it even the enclosure it's only on the lows when the x max gets real
