I love how its implied she breaks up with Bramblestar in the end, with her escaping the entanglement of the brambles.
Technically she breaks it off with Ashfur again, although he was posing as Bramblestar.

The ending is so sad to me. Even if squirrelflight leaves bramblestar, she can’t escape him. He’s the leader of thunderclan, which has always been her home.
I hate that she’s become such a punching bag within the series and had to deal with the mistakes of others as if they were solely hers, and at this point I sadly don’t have much hope she’ll be given her time to shine and instead be retired to the elder’s den, enforcing her fears of aging before she do things that feel meaningful to her and make her happy.

yeah, i wish so bad that the erins end up making bramblestar die before squirrelflight dies or retires so squirrelstar can happen but i know the erins adore bramblestar and use squirrelflight as a punching bag too much to do that

god, you've really out done yourself with this one imo. this is absolutely fucking gorgeous. The story telling and the way everyone expresses their emotions just, HITS extremely hard, as if I could feel the same emotions their feeling, this gives me an entirely new perspective on what Squirrel went through.
The choices of colors you used match so perfectly together and im genuinely stunned with how this came out. This os very very inspirational and just, w o w. ,, Im at a loss for words.
The level of detail in character design is stunning! I love Leafpool's pupils being the three stars. Right before Ashfur's death, his pupils are what I see as yellow flames. Later, Bramble has blue flames in his eyes, which is a neat parallel.

@@Eksutin Huh... Now that I think about Squirrelflight's eyes, to me the 'pacman' kinda symbolize that she has a chance to face her foes, but will always be controlled by someone(Ahem, Bramblestar...).

The way you work with colors and 2d planed to create such an immersive and cool environment is outstanding !! The vine scenes are so insanely pretty and I adore the expressions and editing so much!
I love this cool-colored Bramblestar design. You put so much energy and kept that energy consistent for a slow song, which I’d assume is hard to do. Also love the way you draw teeth; they’re so intense but only when they need to be and they don’t detract from the cat-look. More importantly, this is epic and fits Squirrel so well. I wish the story would just treat her better already.
For being the literal daughter of the most renowned leader of Thunderclan, Squirrels life has been really sucky, having to take care of her sisters code breaking children, a horrible relationship experience, her former/bfs murder and now her mate and leader getting possessed. Like come on star clan, you really messed her up.

And don't forget, starclan manipulated and pressured Squirrelflight into taking them in (including her former dead friend). Even when she said no multiple times, they still were intent on making her do it. Heck, they even told leafpool to "follow her heart" practically giving her permission to go with crowfeather.
And yet both were put on trial for something that starclan had a hand in.

@@Lylaris_or_Garuk yeah it's awful. Like he took a life of a cat just because he's related to someone he wants to get revenge on. Sure, Firestar had extra life's so he didn't die, but he took a life. That's murder. If Firestar wasn't a leader, he would be dead (not to mention the effect it probably had on him mentally). But then again, he probably had little respect for authority and his leader looking at graystripes'd vow. It's not a surprise he did what he did.
He also abused and hurt a child (lionblaze)
But sure yellowfang, his only fault was he loved to much.
Not to mention starclan having a whole trial because she took in her sister’s kits and lied about them when they told her to do it. And then they act like they’re the saints

I really feel bad for Squilf. She went through so much, but others seem to not care. Bramblestar being aggressive with her (especially if she disagrees with him), her ex litterity trying to ruin her life, the kits she adopted now hate her, Starclan trailing her for something they forced her to do, and many cats in her life either died or outcasted her cause of the three situation. She deserves so much better, wither her leaving Bramblestar or eventually becoming leader, I hope the Erins give her happiness one way or another.

Absolute gorgeous, love the colours, expressions, symbolism... also the wave like lights when Squirrelflight is caught in the brambles is just chefs kiss. The song choice is really good too! I know I will return to this a lot. Also love how Squirrel breaks free from the brambles... but of course there is still more: leaving a bad situation is just the first step, theres still a lot of climbing to do. But dont give up! This might be more to whoever might read my comment haha

my brain told me that there are pacmans in squirrelflight's eyes and now i cant unsee it but that aside this is absoloutly gorgeous and i adore your content it all just has such a perfect vibe, i dont know how but you really do manage to make everything in a way that gives people the exact interpretation and feelings towards a scene that you intended, while still keeping enough mystery and surprise and creative differences to make it interesting.

tbh brambleclaw makes me so frustrated because firestar literally oversaw his training and he was raised by goldenflower....... and yet he turns out to be such a bully to squirrelflight. you'd think the leader of thunderclan would be more protective of his daughter being mistreated by his former apprentice :/ i feel so bad for her man. she should've been leader!!
This is just beautiful. Almost haunting in the best way. Litchi, your expressions and movement never cease to amaze me and I think this is the best yet! You can really tell how Squif is feeling and it's just incredible.
I love everything about this, honestly. I actually cannot point out a single one of your works I've ever disliked, or even just not been a fan of. The contrast between neons and darker colors is beautiful, and the details in each character's eyes is absolutely mind blowing.

I adored the symbolism with the mess of brambles! And how even at the end, when she escaped the hold, she was still surrounded by a sea of them. To me, it really gives off that terrible impression that no matter what she'd do, she sadly can't ever escape his hold. Either as a mate, or by him being her leader...

this is done so incredibly. i love how heavy this is. you captured squilf’s struggle through two awful, confusing relationships in a way i’ve never experienced before. this is made me want to get back to catching up on the series. there’s always something magical about an amv/pmv or map that can move me to get back into the story.
This is beyond stunning, the colours and glowing pulsating with the music is just so beautiful. Squirrelflight deserved so much better than what she got in these books.

cant believe i havent left a comment yet on this beauty!!! this pmv is absolutely gorgeous and shows squirrelflights life so well and the constant struggle shes always dealing with. ive never seen a better squilf pmv, especially one that paints her in such a real light. the way she struggles against the brambles only to find herself stranded and alone anyways is so heartbreaking and you portrayed it perfectly!! aside from the amazing story telling, the art is simply gorgeous and i love the melancholy feel in the colours and the intense reds of the brambles, its so pleasing to look at! and it seems like squilfs colour palette almost blends into the background? i dont know if it was intentional but i love it, her being these dull colours while everyone else is vibrant and technicolour! a good song choice too! awesome work!! :)

Yo! Im loving Squirrels Packman Eyes
This is an amazing work! Squirrelflight went through so much, but literally no one cares in the books. But when others go through less stuff, they all get some sort of support such as siblings or a payoff in the end of their character arc. Squirrelflight basically got left alone by her sister (in my opinion), because she was rationalizing Bramble's behavior and such.
Your style is so psychedelic and I love it so much!
Every time I return to watch this video, it never fails to make me cry. The symbolism with Squirrelflight being trapped within the brambles, and then finally being able to break free of them at the end, it's very touching, she goes through so much in the books. The art and colours are beautiful, this is definitely a comfort video for me. Wonderful work, Litchi Kitti. Your art and animations are always wonderful, keep up the great work
I don't know it's on purpose or not, but I noticed that Squif has sort of baggy skin below the eyes, or bags, while the other cats does not have them? At first I thought it's because of her age, but Bramble is old enough too, and yet he does not have them. So I was thinking, is this because the suffering and pain of poor Squilf has made her have those bags?(

Man i love the animation but, damn Squirrelflight should have deserved more, literally looks what everything she does is a mistake mostly on Bramblestars pov, and mostly Squirrelflight needed to live under Bramblestar umbrella and if she gets out Bramblestar will make it worst, really I wished more Bramblestar staying dead then Ashfur possessing him only cause of Squirrelflight, we need Squirrelflight rights everyone!

i know they never ment to make squilf and bramble's relationship toxic, but instead of just ignoring it and moving on when they realized/was told it looked that way they should've broken them up or fixed it or SOMETHING. instead they left little kids with a book series that basically says "hey kids, your future partner isn't abusive, they still love you deep down even if they constantly ignore and ghost you over tiny things!"
