Any body who disagrees must be examined for head injury. David hinds is the best thing in reggae after Bob marley. Still pulse try too hard to alter songs live and i dont like that, and they also use too many cheap synthesizers live, corrupting the songs. As far as song writing is concerned, the work David did on True Democracy, and Earth Crisis especially rank in the top five reggae albums of all time. I am not sure what happened after the victims album, David started writing really crappy songs. Songs so bad that I wondered if he was the same person who wrote " these times of science and technology, the world is an unconscious lavatory" . These lyrics are legendary and dont need to be contaminated with crap like the work he did from Back to my roots up until now. If i sound confusing its because I love David hinds but he is pissing me off with he new work, just sing the old songs and stop making new ones, please. You were touched by God to write Earth crisis, apparently it was a one time thing.Unlike bob marley who was touched to write album after album after album, better better better with each new one. I mean when i think of the fact that Bob wrote So Jah Seh in 1973, that just blows my mind. The arrangement, chord progression, dynamics, i mean in 1973, for some country jamaican boy, i mean this is unbelievable shit. Earth crisis is top three reggae albums of all time. I will put B. Marleys confrontation as 1. God bless u david hinds. You really taught me a lot in 1984 when i was only 12, with Earth crisis.
+man dingo What about the African Holocaust album? Some very good songs on there ("There Must Be a Way", "Tyrant", "No More Weapons", "Global Warning", and "Born fe Rebel"). That was 2004. And how about the lyrics and harmonies David provided on the song "Jah Way" that he released with Lilia Rey and Black Wood. That was great songwriting and vocal style.
