I literally had to pause and take a moment to laugh uncontrollably after they said “they’re trying to solve racism with vibes” “but have we tried that as a society??”
“Counterpoint: Vibes” is the funniest shit ever.

@@grimpoteuthis1337pp00opp0oo0o0o0
i think we did, i think that’s what the whole “i don’t see color” era was lmao 😭
This is by far the most chaotic, unapologetically unorganized and HYSTERICAL episode of Guilty Pleasures we have ever seen.
I don't usually watch the ones for movies I haven't seen but I'm sooooo glad i listened to this one 😅
30:33
Im sorry but the cut from the boys singing and laughing to Garrick having the worst time in his life is so funny to me.
it’s perfect! a bigger cinematic masterpiece than the movie, honestly! (just a joke; the greatest showman stans, don’t attack me LMAO)
39:06
Zach, miles and Eric all singing the opening bit of the movie then the pan to Garrick whose just sat there completely stone faced looking utterly disgusted made me audibly laugh out loud (39:06)
I saw this comment and was waiting for that moment and it did not disappoint 😂
39:06 I nearly fell out of my seat XD
whenever garrick hates the movie, you know it’s gonna be a fun episode
40:43 it's always a jumpscare when Ned is mentioned by any of the try guys in the video, because I've only recently started watching the podcast, and so I had to stop to see when this came out to process why they would be talking about him
eric is pure chaos, especially when he's passionate about the movie he's talking about, i love him
OH MY GOD YES FINALLY MILES BROUGHT ERIC TO WORK!!!!!
its like bring your child to work day
"Trying to solve racism with vibes" killed me dead 😂❤
The way I screamed when I saw Eric in the thumbnail. His commentary track on this movie with Miles is seriously one of my favourite pieces of media ever
EDIT: THE SHOWMAN HATS OH MY GOD
EDIT: Garrick is descending into insanity throughout this podcast and I get it
I didn't even realize that was Miles Miles if not for this comment! 😂 That's one of their funniest commentaries for sure.
SAMEEE
I’m I the only one who has been making uncomfortably intense eye contact with cutout Eugene every time it cuts to miles
Not the only one
Miles Nation has been waiting patiently for this crossover 🙌🏾
GO TIGERS!! 🐯🐯🐯
I always think it would have been so much better if they didn't call him PT Barnum and just pretended it was fictional
Agreed, by tying Barnum to it they ended up romanticising a terrible person. I don’t really care if they romanticise an awful person, but it still seems like something worth avoiding for those who do, and for the sake of not misleading children.
The camera angle for Miles is giving That 70’s Show basement
This has to be the funniest episode they've ever done. I was laughing from beginning to end. I also love the movie too.
2nd to the 50 shades of grey ep which will always have my heart 😭🙏🏽
The real-life little person in Barnum's circus, Charles Stratton, started tours with Barnum when he was 5😬Apparently Barnum stated he was 11 for the shock factor and it's said Charles was drinking and smoking at age 7 for the audience. It's not the worst thing Barnum's done but it really disgusted me
The fact that that ISN’T the worst thing he’s done is terrifying.
This movie is the definition of a guilty pleasure for me. I hate that it’s so fun to watch. I researched pt Barnum while watching it and spent the whole movie hating myself for watching it, but the music, the cast and the vibes really did it for me. I agree with Eric in that I have no idea why they made it a Barnum “”””””biopic”””””” since it would be 100% more fun if it was just about a poor guy who had big dreams and ended up creating the circus.
TL;DR p.t. Barnum sucks but this movie is a bop
I was in tears at Zach talking about how the song could start at any location and it would end back up at the circus by the end of it 😂😂😂
So when i first saw the movie, i also just loved it for the soundtrack and *vibes*, had no clue abt the history as an european person. BUT recently i worked with a kid with disabilities, who loved it for its "representation" of people with disabilities, the little tiny "powerful" moment they get in This is me, simply because she hasnt seen people with disabilities in any other movie. It got me thinking that we really need to do better with showing people with disabilities on screen in a positive, joyous light. This movie means so much to her and the messaging isnt even good, there is the barest minimum of acceptance of disabled people, and it still means so much. Imagine what a well written movie showing actual joy of disabled people could mean for these kids.
Eric is the best possible guest for this podcast and this is probably the best episode he could've been on
Could not agree more !
Eric’s laughter and energy is contagious
Please! Bring him back I can’t watch this video forever
🎩
Glad to see you on the trypod! 🎩
gonna need you back on this podcast one day
the PMI commentary track of this movie is an honest to god comfort watch, it is EVERYTHING to see Eric and Miles get to talk even more about it
This movie is so problematic and sugar coats a cruel reality in which people of colour and disabled people were abused and taken advantage of by a money hungry greedy man
And we see the same thing every day when the "news" tells us about how well the "economy" is doing without mentioning that the actual productive workers can't survive on what they're paid.
@@nancythomas5387 or when the news mentions that people with pre-existing conditions are more likely to die of covid.
Don't really disagree but PT's life (and those of some of the most famous performers associated with him) are more nuanced than that.
What I'm basically saying is your giving PT way too much credit - and by extension some of the performers way too little. Some turned out way more successful than him in the end...
Still extremely abusive to animals, that part is really awful and sad, very little nuance found
@@mishmashmixofstuff, and portray it as "the good news!"
The pan over to Garricks face after Miles and Eric were singing was the single funniest thing in this video
Same thing with dear Evan Hansen the music is Greta by the story is super problematic! Fun fact it was the same people who did the music for the greatest showman.
Why is the Dear Evan Hansen story problematic
This makes SO much sense
@@GiveMeTheRicethe whole show is about Evan lying that he had a whole ass friendship with a guy who committed suicide and cons a whole grieving family and the world 😭 don’t get me wrong, I love dear Evan Hansen and everyone is super talented, but the story is wack
@@nellurso Character doing bad things ≠ bad story
@@GiveMeTheRice I never said it was bad, i said it was a crazy story :)
I don't think anyone understands how long I've waited for Pretty Much It to be on an episode
"I feel like this was planned 😂"... thats what happen when people spend too much time together 😂😂 the bits keep on coming.
i come back to this episode as a comfort show from time to time because it still makes me laugh rewatching it 😭🤣😂🩵🫶🥰
You guys talking about zendaya was hilarious bc I watched this movie with my dad and he also didn’t realise she was black, he was very confused
rewatching this after binging sad boyz all day and finally noticing miles in jarvis merch was incredible
I've been binging Sad Boyz all of this week!
This movie is SO GUILTY. But it's always a pleasure to hear people talk about it.
the production screwed over the actor, jeremy jordan w this production. they used him and his incredible singing to get them to green light the production w the implication that he’d be considered for the role of philip and then just. immediately hired zac efron. and imo, i liked zacs version but i think jeremy would’ve done better
"Ned is the target demographic"
Oh, basic bitches who cheat on their wives?(I love this movie I just took the shot, don't come for me)
I don't think anyone is gonna come for you, we all hate him-
I honestly thought about this the moment they mentioned it.
yea basically
the amount of explosive laughter in this episode 😂😭 priceless
It’s been over a year… we need Eric back on the pod!!!
I'm glad this episode was made because I had no idea of what the movie was actually about. I had only ever heard the music. Thank you to Garrick
I absolutely love the chemistry between everyone here 😆 I was laughing the entire time and enjoying the commentary throughout the entire video
Honestly I think just about every problem with The Greatest Showman would be fixed if they changed the character names and embraced the fact that it's very loosely based on an idealized version of history.
Zach saying he wants to drop kick younger Kit Connor wasn’t what i expected from this ep
He said that and I was like..... oh
I turned this on to have something in the background while I work and I haven't done anything because I can't stop laughing
THE CROSSOVER IVE BEEN WAITING FORRR
Up until recently, I lived in the hometown of Circus World Museum, so I learned quite a bit about different big circus players. When I heard about Greatest Showman, I knew it was going to be a romanticized version of his life. Sooooo, I decided to just pretend this is what Wolverine was doing during this point in the past somehow. I've watched it 90 times since.
I'm only 15 minutes in this is my favourite Guilty Pleasures.
I saw this movie a lot knowing about PT Barnum and came away with the thought process that they played it like PT Barnum himself wrote this movie as he lived his life - highly exaggerated and painting himself in this best light.
perhaps I'm giving the filmmakers too much credit though?
This is hands down the funniest episode of Guilty Pleasure. 🤣
eric and miles have amazing chemistry for the banter i ADORE it
Would’ve been the biggest thing if Eric went “before we start i have a surprise” and brings in Hugh Jackman and Zac
Bring more of Miles’ friends on the pod! This was the best episode 😂 I never watched the greatest showman because of how horrible PT Barnum was 😢
30:35 solving racism with vibes replay button
this movie is so historically inaccurate that they should have just made it about some made up person. They got so much wrong about just general history, not even including what they got wrong about Barnum himself.
Watching this while smoking my morning J. Laughed so hard I cried when they talked about the fight scene 😭 🤣
This is hands down my FAVORITE episode of this show. I would watch it at least 3 more times
I LOVE PRETTY MUCH IT dude their greatest showman video was one of my favorite
Eric is the perfect friend for miles 🤣🤣
ERICCCC!!! Favorite guest so far ❤ thanks for inviting him
I've seen the movie once, but I've listened to the soundtrack so, so, so many times. I can totally agree that they gloss over all of Barnum's flaws and exploitation, which is part of why I haven't watched it more times.
the year the 'Greatest Showman' came out, my high school did the musical 'Barnum' which included the cheating, slavery, and all of his conman antics to the worse songs you might have ever heard. Joyce Heath literally gets her own song and I literally had to tell everyone to not call her a slave. Every time I hear a circus theme, I get physically ILL.
I love Eric so much, please have him on again!
This episode was truly so funny, definitely do the "guest actually loves the film unironically" thing again!
I will never NOT watch this podcast. I was laughing so hard the entire time at the reactions
This was a PHENOMENAL CROSSOVER !!!! Absolutely chaotic good loved the energy guys !!!
Im in New Zealand, a polynesian country and hearing you guys say you didnt know what the Rock was for years really tells me that you have no idea what polynesians look like... which isnt anyones fault, theres just not many of us in mainland america..
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one confused about Zendayas character!
Goooo Tigers!!! So excited to see Eric !!!
Zendaya being biracial and ambiguous enough to ‘pass’ really made the interracial romance feel cheap. I wish Zen and Zac would actually do a romcom together 🥹
She was way too young to think about this at the time, but I imagine it was very difficult to cast a black woman to do this for role considering the movie doesn’t mention once that Barnum treated them like animals in his life. My guess is older black actors would be incredibly disinterested in contributing to that narrative after a quick google search of the subject matter.
THIS IS THE MOST FUN GUILTY PLEASURES PODCAST. I completely lost it a ton of times but SPECIALLY at 39:21
I definitely needed the laughs, thanks a lot.
Awesome to finally see Eric on the pod! ❤️
WE NEED MORE ERIC! HE IS THE SHOT OF ESPRESSO THIS MOVIE NEEDS
Honestly I bet half of the books high Hackman read also romanticized Barnums life- not that he didn’t know, but that it is very common in history for awful people’s life to be rewritten in a positive life
This episode is so good that I listened to it on Spotify and am now re-watching it on CZcams.
The second I saw Eric in the thumbnail I knew that he was going to cause a ruckus
This is the greatest crossover I've ever had the pleasure of consuming
If y’all haven’t watched pretty much it you need to they are some of the the funniest videos on CZcams
Idk why but when I was hella depressed my senior year, this movie was the only thing I watched and it genuinely made me happy
Eric??? I've never clicked on a video so fast! GO TIGERS!!!!!! ....and that's pretty much it
watching this a year later realizing the little kid from rocket man they’re talking about is kit connor 😭
Wait, I never knew they collabed with prettymuchit and for the greatest showman too, which Eric is mad about. Amazing.
I had no idea this collab existed and I’m so upset I’m almost a year late to it wtf 😭 I love PMI!!!!
this is the funniest episode to date 😂😂
the greatest showman x MCU is a crossover I didn’t know I needed 🤣
I watched the movie by myself and was underwhelmed. I watched it again with the Pretty Much It commentary track and could not stop laughing and it's now a favorite of mine. I'd highly recommend the commentary track for anyone wanting to watch the movie!
Dude this is the first video I’ve watched from you and I was crying with laughter🤣. I like this idea for a series too, definitely gonna binge some more, subscribed❤️
I feel like every single song on this soundtrack went viral on Tiktok with it's own trend. I had not seen the movie and honestly didn't until I was stuck in my home in 2020 and saw it was on Disney + and said "alright sure". Still didn't really like the movie but loved the songs and continue to listen to the soundtrack. Watching This Is Me of the cast is an experience.
This is one of the BEST episodes you all have done - thank you! PS Can these four be the new Guilty Pleasures group? If so, I will watch it EVERY time! :-)
Not Zach talking smack on baby Kit Connor in Rocketman! How could you! haha
Garricks face and laugh at 38:15 🤣💀
hysterical episode! Great chemistry b/t all 4 of u
I love Eric & PMI so much, so this might be my new favorite episode!!!
Didn’t they like JUST outlaw elephants being used in circuses when this movie came out? It was so disgusting the route they chose to take. It was actually incredible.
Finally, was waiting for this episode for so long.
Y’all need to watch The Cat in The Hat, with Mike Meyers
BEST SURPRISE!!!! I adore this movie and this podcast!!!
The Greatest Showman 2: The Freaks Fight Back
I have never been so excited for a try guys guest
You guys really need to cover "The Chipmunk Adventure". A formative classic. Life changing.
That was my childhood movie and to this day remains one of my Problematic Favorites.
I usually listen to this. I was rewatching and got jumpscared by Eugene. 😂
So here for Garrick calling everyone out 😂
Upvotes for Garrick 👍👍
"THAT'S REDISTRIBUTION "
I also watched it fresh when it came out and the moment where Zac let’s go of Zendayas hand I thought it was cause she’s a black woman and a “freak”. So I didn’t rly experience Garrick’s confusion. Also something that Zendaya often gets hate about is that she’s “not black enough” so it’s interesting to hear Garrick’s pov
I didn’t catch that at all and I’ve been in a relationship where the guys parents wouldn’t take our prom pics because of my color. Knowing zendaya is black, which Garrick isn’t arguing at all, and understanding that complete strangers would know she is black and want her not to be with their son, is the issue he is highlighting. It’s not believable especially in that time when dark coloring white people were a lot more Common for very sad reasons we both know and I won’t explain.
From what I understand, between them not once discussing their race as a problem, and zendaya being visibly white passing yet causing racial tension with strangers who wouldn’t know she’s black, is what he’s highlighting. Like Arab girls who looked white at my school had no problems. Arab girls who are black or brown did. He’s highlighting a very non problematic and obviously hilarious plot hole in this movie.
A less controversial thing to compare it to is say there’s a show where one of the siblings is Latino. Him being Latino is not at all ever discussed or explored and is not written into his character to be highlighted. If that show then had an episode where everyone gives that character hell because he is Latino it would be bizarre. Likezendayas plot line it wouldn’t make it invalid or not believable it would just be so out of left field.
And on a more serious note for poor Garrick and other poc watchers, how cheap of an unexplored B plot racial tension was in this movie is one of its many many many flaws. I only watched some of it following this hilarious podcast but it’s an unequivocally unwatchable for so many reasons good god… glossing over the dangerous and oppressive racism was just one of its many sins
@@zerocraic3966 Zendaya isn't "white passing" her skin is brown and her features are that of the typical african american, especially her nose. A bigger problem is the erasure of mixed race people from their peers. People should maybe educate themselves instead of expecting people to fit into a box they think they should fit in. I'm mixed race and had no problem recognizing Zendaya was not white.
