The whole conundrum with the knockout method only producing a chance to increase chances drove me nuts when i was first hunting in SWSH, its genuinely really neat that even in modern pokemon games theres weird math that takes years to figure out the purpose of !
And it still looks tame compared to the truly bizarre weirdness of the DexNav mechanics!!!

I found a Shiny Sinistea myself randomly, in that Crown Tundra Den with all the Regional treats, not authentic but I still love 'em!
I traded them over to a friend who is a big fan of the spooky tea.
I was just re-watching the shield badge quest movie earlier and thought "whoa the sinistea video still isn't out"

I feel like as shiny hunters we're all.. a lil insane.. we know they have low odds, especially pokemon with different variants, yet we still seek to obtain one.. the entire time thinking "I cant wait for this to be over" n then when we do get it "its finally over"... but then immediately move onto another shiny or start thinking which to hunt next.. it's a complex yet braindead thing n I love it

I think you helped inspire a lot of people to attempt this hunt themselves. Ever since this was released, more shiny authentic sinistea shave been found than ever before, with so many others attempting the hunt for themselves. As for me… unfortunately I haven’t found it yet, with 3349 dead teacups to my name (with the charm) but I refuse to give up until I see the pink, marked teacup for myself

OMG!! The video is finally here! And WOW that was great!! The first part, going over the SWSH odds and how it all played out really felt like how it was to experience back when the game first came out. I remember all the stuff about the game being “broken” and reading the official page back when the game came out and thinking maybe the whole community (myself included) has missed something specific about the Brilliant Pokémon. It felt like a method gimmick-we just didn’t understand it for so long. But anyway, congrats on the shiny iCup!!! It’s a harrowing hunt for sure. (Also, theoretically, if it did have a mark, which mark would you have wanted it to have?)
