About One Hour One Life
This game is about playing one small part in a much larger story. You only live an hour, but time and space in this game is infinite. You can only do so much in one lifetime, but the tech tree in this game will take hundreds of generations to fully explore.
This game is also about family trees. Having a mother who takes care of you as a baby, and hopefully taking care of a baby yourself later in life. And your mother is another player. And your baby is another player. Building something to use in your lifetime, but inevitably realizing that, in the end, what you build is not for YOU, but for your children and all the countless others that will come after you. Proudly using your grandfather's ax, and then passing it on to your own grandchild as the end of your life nears.
And looking at each life as a unique story. I was this kid born in this situation, but I eventually grew up. I built a bakery near the wheat fields. Over time, I watched my grandparents and parents grow old and die. I had some kids of my own along the way, but they are grown now... and look at my character now! She's an old woman. What a life passed by in this little hour of mine. After I die, this life will be over and gone forever. I can be born again, but I can never live this unique story again. Everything's changing. I'll be born as a different person in a different place and different time, with another unique story to experience in the next hour...

I come bearing grave news. The last of the Content Family bloodline died off 9 hours ago (about 11 am est). Final generation was 957, the largest in bigserver2. Their bell falls silent, their city soon to be a lost monument. Families will scour the map to reclaim this metropolis, either to scavenge its bounty, or to map it out for future players to find. That was very satisfying to watch, seeing that graveyard slowly come together, you even had a helper! Its so interesting to see how each life can be so different, and sometimes you are born with a single goal, it would have been so nice to see everything come together, maybe some flowers, or seeing the alter being used, but you laid the foundations for future generations (perhaps unlikely considering that scare at the end of the imminent end of your village lol).

While it is quite some time ago, I can actually confirm that we barely survived the hunger crisis, I was the young girl around the 48-49 minute mark talking to my Ma in her final moments, was one of my first buncha lifes too! The helper tried to keep the graveyard nice and tidy, some lives later while being reborn there we even had two boys being gravediggers, I tried to get them roses for the graveyard but didn't know how to do so back then.
You had left the cart next in the farm next to the carrots. Unfortunately my telling you though my phone screen didn't work lmao!
I literally said aloud "Twisted, you're leaving your cart. Don't leave it there it's gonna get taken. Oh no you left it."
Idk why I do that, but I did and laughed when you brought it up a couple minutes later.
He passed next to the cart like 5 times 😂 every time I was like ITS THEREEE!! Feel like watching Dora the explorer 😂

As you were planting the trees I went “I bet he’s going to dig up the bush and plant a tree instead of building the pillar like he planned”…. And then instantly after, you did exactly that. 😂

I'm not one to comment often, but I just wanted to say I've really been enjoying your new playthroughs of OHOL! Its actually how I discovered this game and your channel a couple years ago, and seeing these new episisodes has been super fun. I should have expected it from the title, but the sudden rp of being the 'creepy graveyard keeper uncle' with the weird laugh caught me off guard, but it was entertaining to say the least. Seeing you depart from your usual duties of taking on the town's necessities, and delving into something more creative and exploratory was a refreshing change of pace to watch. I hope your design for the graveyard was followed through by future generations; you did some great work on it!
Kind of unrelated, although I've noticed the new illustrated thumbnails, which look great, but I don't see any credit for them in the description. As an artist, I know its common curtosey to credit an artist if you're using their work in any way, including YT thumbnails. I just don't want to see an artist not getting the credit they're worth!
I wonder if twisted is an artist!

First you build the graveyard, then you become the graveyard.
These days if I'm born a girl I stay at the village and work my whole life but if I'm born as a boy I wander off and try to find loot to bring home. So far I've found lots of horses with carts and one delivery truck ... which got taken from the An family that went extinct and ended up with the White/Berry family who went extinct and now I think it's at the Contents lol (that was the weekend though it could be very different now)

I just learned this game existed! Been reading the wiki but I’m still confused on how you know if you are born a girl or boy, I know as a mom you can look at your baby to tell, but how do you know when you spawn in?

There's a limited amount of character models and they're all different, and I've played so much by now that I know which are male and which are female. By default the game also shows private parts but I have that disabled. There's also a mod that some people use that just tells you if you're male or female

Hey Twisted, I tried shooting with a bow and arrow for the first time and it wouldnt work for me, I was aiming at a duck, clicked on the duck with the bow and arrow and nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
You can’t shoot a white goose with an arrow. You put it on a tree stump and chop its head off with an axe.

You need to take the egg before you kill the duck
There aren’t ducks in OHOL. There are Canadian Geese (pond) and Domesticated Geese (white). To kill the goose in the pond, they have to be standing outside of it for you to shoot it with an arrow. You probably have to take the egg away too, but I’m not sure since I always collect them first. To kill a domesticated goose, you have to Anne Boleyn it on a stump.

You had a cart, left it near and just forgot about it just to mention one thing I noticed.
Really? I’m always impressed with how well he narrates and still gets things done. It’s so easy to get distracted in this game because you decide to do something only to find you are missing a key piece of putting things together. Usually I have to make new tools, plant a crop, refill cisterns, etc, and I don’t think I could keep everything straight while also talking. Lol
@@racheeerach You've got a fair point there; this game is quite complicated and it's easy to be distracted, twicely so when you're talking and explaining what you're doing.
Could have just been my imagination, but could've sworn he was more focused on tasks in the past.
Maybe he’s out of practice? When I don’t play for a while, I have to haunt OneTech to do anything. A few times people have force-fed me because I was just standing in one place for so long trying to figure out how to do something that they assumed I was afk. Hahha
But for real, this game gets sooo messy sometimes. I couldn’t even plant potatoes yesterday because I didn’t remember to use a knife and repeatedly hit the sprout with flint. Like, Rae, if it doesn’t work the first time, it’s not gonna work the second time (or the third or fourth)!
Someone took pity on me and told me that I needed a knife, so I went to grab one. At that point, I found that they were all mia from the kitchen. I had to wait for the person in the smith to finish the steel (they kept taking both tongs and picking up/stacking the flat rocks randomly on the ground) even though there was already a huge stack of iron. They used up all of the charcoal in all of the kilns on the steel, so I had to refill the kiln which meant grabbing kindling from a building I hid some in earlier so I could make beans (they never got made). When I finally had the metal thing, I then had to search for a file (which was actually in the wall box where I would normally put it, but I never look there first since it’s almost never there). Lol. I had _finally_ made a knife blade, but I still needed a short shaft. That meant I had to find a maple branch. I went to the tree farm, but they were all gone at that moment (I guess someone had turned them into kindling or something because there were two full piles when I went to grab a knife) which meant that I, of course, had to go out into the wilderness to find one. I hate going out and only bringing one thing back, so I had to find my cart that had been taken. When I got back from the wilderness, there weren’t any sharp bois in the kitchen, so I wandered around town looking for one. When I finally completed the knife, I went back to the potato plot to find that someone had taken the two bowls I was using to sprout and place dirt/water. Doh!
The whole thing felt like a battle. But in the end, I won the battle and planted the f outta some potatoes. Lol. I just don’t think that I could do that and narrate in an entertaining way. Hahaha. That’s basically what I deal with every time I play, so I’m vv impressed with people who can keep everything straight enough to complete _anything_. Watching these vids makes me want to try to narrate my game to see how I do, but I’m probably not that much of a masochist. Hahaha
And the worst part of all of this is when I went to put the knife in the kitchen so whoever was cooking had one, someone returned and pulled _THREE_ knives from her backpack. 😂 I kept my knife because I had earned it. I should say that I also had to make the cart I was using, so a cart, a knife, some smashed beans, and potatoes (I baked so many and did a second planting!) was basically my whole life.
