One of the essential characteristics of good investment is entry ,exit choice be with investors. In SGB exit point is governed by scheme ,in the sense , capital gains exemption is available only on predetermined exit date. What if the price of gold is unfavourable on exit date ? The better way would have been minimum period specified for tax benefits with option to hold beyond that date.
If the price is favourable on exit date , I give thumbs up to it, considering yearly interest, capital gains exemption which are not available in gold bees .
Exit point is with the investor , if you have purchased in demat form. If the current price is nearing to your purchase price , you can simply sell in the market. That is why it is also available in demat form
