Recently, in fact over the past 4/5 years I’ve been thinking maybe it’s time to give up riding sports bikes. Then I take my rc51 out for a ride and within seconds I’m thinking, no fu**ing way! This bike is unbelievably addictive.

Assuming Bike. I had mine for over 12 years and I don't think I'm going to sell it

It's hard to imagine not wanting to keep it. I don't think there is any other bike around that has this feeling

This bike is in mint condition. I have an 03 SP2.

I wouldn't mind an SP2 as well just to see if the different swingarm makes any difference.....

The SP-1 is still a rocket & definitely one of the best sounding engines ever!

@futureofcarstube even if there was no difference it is a sexy piece of engineering in the aluminium colour. I have often thought of doing the swingarm swap but prefer to keep the SP-1 original

@@ashinoz11 definitely keep the SP1 original its perfect as is right now, buy an SP2 as a second bike. I just uploaded a video of mine see if you can tell the difference.

Love your videos and taste in bikes. I’m so torn between getting an Sp1/2, a cbr954rr, or a triumph Daytona 675, and maybe r6. It’s hard to find any info that aren’t paid reviews or just bullshit honestly haha. Any quick pros and cons of the sp1? And is the handling great? I’m really not one for top horsepower or speed just an agile bike with great handling feeling.

The SP-1 is excellent. I have added an ohlins rear shock & Dan Kyle rear shock link & the Scotts steering damper.
Pros: Engine, Engine, Engine, one of the best, handling once set up for you is amazing, so well built it lasts forever. Looks like new, doesn't seem to age.
Cons: After 23 years the standard brakes are not as good as modern bikes in feel but just as good in stopping power. Nothing else.
I rode mine as a daily for years, and it does it easy. It's so well built I love it.

@@ashinoz11 awesome thank you! That’s what draws me in the most is the handling and being an HRC built bike, it just looks so well thought out and well built. It’ll probably change several times but most likely going after an sp2 once I find a clean one without terrible mods
