  • The 2024 North Reach is a versatile, three-strut, all-around kite designed for a wide range of riding styles and ability levels. This model sees several enhancements from its 2023 version. There's a revised wingtip shape and deeper canopy to address previous issues with the kite surging forward and causing over-rotation during tricks.
While this change slightly affects the kite's upwind drive, We believe the improved balance and intuitive feel more than compensate for it. The 2024 Reach uses North's nMax Dacron, a premium, lightweight, and stiff material that offers high performance without a hefty price tag. While the Reach isn't specifically designed for light wind riding, it's adaptable enough for various conditions and riding styles, making it a versatile choice for most riders.

For 12m Would you go with reach or orbit 2024 ?

Great question. đŸ€™đŸœ The 2024 North Reach and Orbit are fantastic kites, but they serve slightly different purposes depending on what you want.
The Reach is an all-around, versatile kite that’s perfect if you want one kite for everything-freeride, light wind performance, and even some jumping. It’s user-friendly, has a great wind range, and performs well in various conditions. If you want a kite that can do a bit of everything and prioritize versatility, the Reach would be a solid choice.
The Orbit is designed specifically for big air and loops. If your focus is on boosting massive jumps, hangtime, and looping, the Orbit is the way to go. It’s more specialized than the Reach, so this kite will deliver if you’re after adrenaline-pumping sessions with big airs.
In short, If you’re looking for an all-rounder, go with the Reach. The Orbit is the way to go if you’re chasing big airs and loops.
      Good winds to you! -Aaron

Hi, great video! I was wondering if you could please tell me any info on how the North Reach 2024 flies compared to the Duotone evo SLS? I am interested in which kite would be more stable in the sky, resistant to gusts, less prone to stalling, intuitive to control, less punishing / more user friendly, easiest to learn kite loops, better low end (easier to keep in the sky / less likely to fall out of the sky when the wind drops off a little, and any other factors I might not have considered? I’m not able to call to ask these questions as I live in the UK. Many thanks in advance for any advice you can give me

Hey Thank you for the feedback! I would say that the Reach is a bit more user friendly than the Evo sls the Evo is a bit more raw feel and more aggressive through the loops when compared to the Reach. If I was looking for a daily driver and a kite to learn loops on I would go with the reach due to the versatility.

@@MACkiteboarding thank you so much for replying. I have only ever flown evo / evo SLS. Do you think it’s a bad idea to buy a north reach without testing one first, or am I likely to get on with it if I can already stay upwind and transition on an evo / evo sls

I would say both the Evo and Rach are very stable. I think the Evo is a more resistant to gusts. Neither is prone to stalling but if any the reach may have an advantage there. The reach is slightly more intuitive to control, in terms of which is more user friendly, it depends on what you are doing. If you are just boosting the Evo will get you higher easier. If you want to learn loops, both kites loop well but the reach does excel at soft and fast loops (it should be called the teach rather than the reach as it can teach you to downloop). For kiteloops you would need a smaller size though. The low end is about the same possibly better on the Evo, but the Reach does stay in the sky when there is absolutely not enough wind to kitesurf. If you are looking to do bigger jumps, go with the Evo, if you are looking to do loops go with the Reach.

Going upwind may be a touch easier on the Evo, but it's about the same. I don't think you will notice much difference between the kites.

Hey guys it's 2023. Not even the end of the year, it's weird brands try to say it's a 2024 when clearly it's a 2023 😂😂😂

Thanks for commenting. đŸ€™đŸœ This is quite common in several other industries, like cars and tech. They often release new models a year in advance. It's part of their marketing strategies to make products seem more futuristic and cutting-edge. But hey, as long as the gear is good and serves its purpose well, it's all fun and games. It's so the kites you have seem more dated earlier allowing them to sell more kites sooner.
