Don’t mind these adds. Brings back memories. I was 12 in 1990
Also enjoying the 80’s commercials !!
The BEST show ever….
Up there on the Mount Rushmore of comedy shows ever
-Only the Twilight Zone followed right behind the Honeymooners. At lease the Twilight Zone was # 2.
I came to America in 1978 and I instantly fell in love with the Honeymooners😃
1979 from mother Ukraine.
Fell in love instantly
ONE OF THE GREATEST SHOWS IN AMERICAN FILM HISTORY. ALL FOUR WERE/ARE GREAT ACTORS. IT SADDENS ME THAT WE WILL NEVER HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN TODAY ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS. WE JUST DON'T HAVE THE TALENT. HORRIBLE.
Been watching the Honeymooners since i was a kid and still watch them
....I used to watch this with my mom & dad...then later when it showed up on WPIX in NY/NJ I'd watch it every night...I know the lines by heart...I'm 72 now and say them before Jackie or Art....I still laugh so hard it hurts...
This earlier Alice is much like the kind of bitch you'd find in Brooklyn. That's not pure speculation; I've dated Brooklyn women - not for very long, but I have dated them.
One of the greatest shows, no doubt. Love the way they left these 80s commercials in. Old memories there too.
The commercials are an unnecessary interruption.
@@HansDelbruck53stop complaining you’re watching it for free aren’t you?
@@stevekay1925I'm not complaining. I'm making an observation. And I'm not watching it for free; I'm paying for Internet service to get CZcams and for the electricity to run my computer.
Pure genius pure genius.. still today.
This is television at its best The Honeymooners
Audrey is acting like the original Alice in this one..she softened Alice later
I once looked at a street map of Brooklyn to find Chauncey Street, which was the street Gleason grew up on, and which he had the Kramdens and the Nortons living on -- same address, 328 -- when he created this show. I discovered that there's a Ralph Street not too far from there. I've never seen it mentioned in any biography of Gleason's, but i wonder if that's where he got Kramden's first name from.
Could be!
I purchased the Honeymooners box set years ago. This special was included as a added bonus.
To quote a fine American "How Sweet It Is!!!"
It was. But edited
I grew up watching the Honeymooners on black and white tv. I really liked the show then and I still do. The show is still so funny after all those years. Long live shows like this.
They're all gone now but I still like watching it all the time
Not quite. Joyce Randolph, (Trixie) is still alive. If she lives to her birthday later this year, she will be 98!
The 80’s and 90’s had the best commercials
Jackie Gleason dancing makes my day even brighter including when the day has been miserable I put on The Honeymooners and BAM,ZOOM I'm happy again. I remember when the special came out brings back my teenage years because living in Toronto Ontario Canada we get Rochester NY channels signals.
REMEMBER WATCHING THESE IN THE 80'S GOOD TIMES
A string of "Poloponies" always cracks me up
He was such a good actor .
The Oscar nomination proved how good of an actor he was. He more than held his own playing Minnesota Fats alongside Paul Newman. Not only Jackie was a great actor, but he was also as quick on the fly as anyone. Incredible comedic instincts, a bigger-than-life personality, and razor-sharp wit. He was one of a kind.
They all were!
They were all outstanding actors and it's beyond me why Jackie gleason never won for best actor, the man was simply, is and will always be iconic..... Trixie is still among us in 2023, god bless her heart! Rest in peace for the rest who have already left.
She lives by central park in New York city think she is 99 years old now
@@jackieguccione94 Amazing! Joyce is part of the reason NYC is iconic! It's were it all started for so many legends....
Omg, I remember that opening of :
A CBS SPECIAL PRESENTATION.
The Honeymooners have been a part of my life since childhood up until today. The only now classic tv show that has continuously been aired on network tv (channel !! here in NYC) since it has been in syndication. Truly one of the best comedy classic tv programs of all time.
It's funny:
Everytime I see Audrey meadows
I see WILMA FLINTSTONE😃
HANNA-BARBERA drew her that way😊
I'm glad they kept the old commercials, from the late 70s, early 80s
The first time I ever saw The Honeymooners was when I visited my aunt in NYC in 1985. I was about 10 and had never been up so late before. Loved it right away!
@Russell Collier Same here.
@@TheKitchenerLeslie mines is scary similar to yours first time I seen the Honey mooners show was around 1984/85 at my aunt house as well Newark nj 10 yrs old I was at that time also that's crazy the similarities
Honeymooneiestt
great writing. great acting
yes it was both
He’s exactly right, people liked Ralph & Alice. Genuinely liked and cared for them. And that got them 2/3 of the way there.
Such an endearing TV comedy series ❤️
Yep!
There is no show like the honey mooners.love, love it
-That's for sure. I just love that one where Ralph is in his bosses office and sitting in his chair Then his boss walks in on him --And that was all to impress a long time friend of his. As it turns out his long time friend was a sewer mans helper.(even lower then Norton).

A true pioneer in the art of Comedy,, grew up with his comedy,,.
They were BEYOND great!
Yes they were....AWFUL...
Their comedy compatibility enhances each other's performances.
Love THE HONEYMOONERS, always have & always will since I was a kid. We thank U Jackie for created one of the funniest shows of all time 👍😉.
💛💙💜💚❤💗
So glad he apologized for calling her stupid
I loved watching The Honeymooners when I was a child.I remembered watching them when they were on WPIX in New York when I lived in Connecticut. This brings back great memories!
I don’t see another show better then this!
than, not then
The Honeymooners in the top 5 of all time greatest sitcoms in my opinion, started watching them again and tears are coming out of my eyes from laughter 😃 😀 😄
This was such a good show. You will laugh 😂😂 your butt off. Always loved JG.
A classic enough said
they worked with very little props and
pretty much used the small apartment
in all of the episodes but still did very well.
I always love The Honeymooners, I have like 60 episodes
Honeymooners is one of my favorite sitcoms of all time! It only ran a year but it was awesome! I only got to watch it in re-runs since when I came up we got like 2 channels if you were lucky and the weather was good and we use to get aluminum foil and wrap it on the rabbit ears! I started watching it on cable re-runs and I never get tired of it!
It’s up there with the Phil silvers show, absolutely classic comedy
Love these old commercials!
They're so joyously cheesy, I love it!
Greatness !
UNCLE BUCK ! NOW THAT WAS A MOVIE ! R.I P. ALL 😢❤🙏🏻 apart from Joyce who is 98 yrs old now 👏
I remember watching this. I was just getting into the Honeymooners as a kid. If I remember right it was WHEC that aired it before they changed over the an NBC affiliate.
It still has universal appeal! Thank you for sharing.
Universal appeal to be violent, obnoxious, and creepy.
Great talent.
I remember the Jackie Gleason show with the June Taylor Dancers and the Honeymooners. I loved it then, love the Honeymooners now.
Love this show
Baby, the were the BEST!🌕👍
Yes ( Glorious ) black and white the only way to best enjoy the fabulous " HONEYMOONERS " 😂
This video was my 2000th like
My favorite episode was the sleepwalking episode sooo funny
Mine was when Gleason jumped to his death from the window. Great episode.
@@bobgordon236 Mine was when you were eaten by rats.
Thank you.

MY FAVORITE!!!!
LONG LIVE THE HONEYMOONERS!!!!
GDI, Loved it. Timeless comedy.
HONEY MOONERS WAS THE "GREATEST '
I love how Art says, "We were just a couple of kids, and acted like kids." I began watching The Honymooners at age 10 when my dad introduced me to the reruns. The always seemed like grown-ups to me so it was weird hearing that. :)
I'm yet to watch the show still, have seen lots of clips though which I love.
I think it’s cause the elderly considers anyone who is 20 years or more younger a kid lol
The Flintstones!!!
There were certain shows that you just watched growing up Three stooges Laurel and Hardy our gang, Bowery boys I Love Lucy. 😆 But nothing nothing beats The Honeymooners Jackie Gleason writer and I still love to watch The Jackie Gleason show with the June Taylor dancers of course The Honeymooners would not have been complete without the Great great art Carney as Ed Norton he was funny funny funny and Alice Audrey Meadows perfect match for Jackie Gleason Ralph kramden and Joyce Randolph she was a sweetheart too Eds Trixie and wife may they all rest in peace they're sorely missed❤️❤️
✝️🙏
The FLINTSTONES wouldn't have been invented
However, Wilma acted like the other Alice
Such a great show
there was a scene where Ralph and Ed were in a hotel lobby- Ralph leaves to do something & while Ed is still there "Jackie Gleason" comes in & Ed is all excited to meet him And of course Gleason looks just like a movie star. Then Ed leaves & while Ralph is still there "Art Carney" comes in (wearing a cashmere coat I think) & looking like a million bucks & later Ralph & Ed are telling each other they just met Jackie Gleason and Art Carney! Magic.
I can still see the look on my Father's face as he watched this show. It was all teeth from ear to ear. He would go absolutely nuts when Ralph would say " one of these days , pow!!! right in the kisser" isn't it funny how these old shows were so funny, no swearing, no reference to male or female body parts. We as a country have went so far down hill.
It CERTAINLY is!
We have? Now it wouldn't be funny to make a joke about a man punching his wife in the face! But, you're right about one thing. Back then people knew grammar and spelling and would know to say "we have gone downhill", not "we have went downhill"! I think it's time for you to sign up for an English class at night school.
Odd, I remember Ralph Cramben sometimes saying to Alice "One Of These Days Alice, Pow, To The Moon".
@@DougMen1…… so immature for you to set yourself up as the “Grammar Police” on a page where everyone’s here to have fun. Shame on you 🙄
Pls
One of my shows I watch every year new year
OMG! Jackie was so much thinner in that early clip from 1952.
Even 70 years later, people younger than me are enjoying it. By the way, I am 43. If Ralph was considered fat in 1955, 2023 says "HOLD MY BEER ".
I wish I could see some episodes in color from the Jackie Gleason show
the lost episodes are the best om kinoscope .
Anybody know what that song is near the 35 minute mark that they are dancing too!? Some of the lyrics are “here’s a song you should know, when the lights are down low” Really like it
And away we go ii.
Peter and Lois Griffin have been around longer than I thought.
Hilrious. Takes me back
she was so elegant
Alice was a honey
1990 !!! This was 32 years ago !! So now it’s 67 years ago !!! I did the match !! Lmao
The baby episode❤❤
Okay so nobody's going to chime in with the correct answer I think it's radio?
For some reason I don't remember this. I do remember the one from the following year, August or September 1986 [ I remember because I was just about to start high school. ] with the four principal cast members officially unveiling the "lost episodes." I get misty-eyed thinking back on it as I know now Gleason was ill and would pass the following summer, but he kept it private.
The show did so well because it's one of the best shows ever just like all in the family
I don't know for a fact, but I heard that the Flintstones cartoons were based off of Honeymooners.
I was 7 years old when they had this anniversary special. The commercials back in the 90's and the 80's were awesome.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
That's kind of weird that they re-did the same episode that Pert Kelton played Alice. Either way, both were great!
In the much much later colorized episodes Pert Kelton returned as Alice'd mother.
They re-did quite a few episodes. Quite a few of the now so called "Lost episodes" were remade as the now called classic 39.
@@VicMartino They re-did that "adopted dog" episode several times. I think Gleason even brought it back when they rebooted "The Honeymooners" as a weekly musical comedy in 1966.
@@jazzmanchgo U are correct sir.
I can never find my favorite episode, which was only :15 long, about "the fight of the year"...
It's a good thing they adjusted the characters somewhat for The Honeymooners, which wouldn't have been as good if Ralph and Alice were so crude to each other, with Ralph calling her "stupid" and apologizing for his "dumb wife," and Alice calling his brother "the stupidest person she's ever seen" and telling him to "shut up." The pull of the Honeymooners was that at heart they were truly decent, even if under all the pressures they occasionally shouted and threw zingers at each other.
Agree 100 percent. Alice was still somewhat of an early feminist in the Honeymooners, but was sweet and kind as well. Glad they turned her in to a good wife who still loved the abusive Ralph. But he would always turn in to a softy too and apologize to her and own up to his stupid mistakes...
At 25:27 Audrey Meadows states she thought of Alice as an early feminist
@@kevinsullivan136 It definitely was a main theme of the show, as highlighted in the "man is king of the castle" and the cleaning lady episodes. By the end of each episode, Ralph the "husband is boss" has to sheepishly admit that he was wrong and she was right.
Be careful, because a lot of channels have been taken down
From The Honeymooner's content, or just commercially available content in general? Before I publish anything, I first research whether it already exists on CZcams. If similar content does, then I upload the video, but do not publish it until all of the content-ID matches have processed.
Jackie Gleason was not obese in this particular episode. How and why did he gain all that weight afterwards?
Medications?
Linda Lawson
The word genius falls short here.
Obnoxious fits better. Horrible show.
@@bobgordon236 don't pay attention to the actors, pay attention to the characters and forget about the actors
Wow Jackie was smaller. 🤣😂
Thanks needs to always be given to Jackie Gleason for keeping the old live skits and episodes for all those many years. A real hero of comedy history. If it wasn't for him keeping those old Kinescope films, more than half of the Honeymooners adventures would have been lost. Hours and hours and hours of skits and even dozens of full length episodes would be completely gone forever. Thanks Jackie. You were wrong about Alice though . . . YOU'RE the greatest!
Thats how Jackie grew up v.poor . Glad he made it. RIP
Rare to see Norton with his hat off!
i think this one has bits that are nowhere else on the tube.
I always loved this show. I was born in 1945, and how I missed those days!
Play on words:
Put Crinkley Cracks in a pipe and smoke them. Who ever would have known!?
💚 👍
💕
Great video, and having the old commercials in there added to it. I noticed at the end the news cast mentioned the Persian Gulf. This was two months before Operation Desert Storm.
When will the 35th anniversary of the 35th anniversary be released?
In 2025
If they did a 30th anniversary special in 1985 Gleason would have still have been alive.
they hollered too much ! ! but i rem seein this show on reruns in late 50s..was not born yet for the start..
Wait a minute.....Wait a Minute.....WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!!!! This special is 32 years old?!?!?! (passing out)
How do they have a clip or show from 1952? I thought they only made shows in 1956, Jackie definitely looks lighter. Is there any others I haven’t seen?
