*med update: talked to my endocrinologist and we decided to lower my dosage of meds and that has helped the bloating immensely!!

I've been a size 5 and a size 15, you'll never be happy until you love yourself for who you are. I have been in a happy relationship for the last 9 years and I have gained that relationship weight, plus 2 kids. But, I'm actually the most comfortable I've ever been with myself and my body. I am strong, I am happy, I am proud of who I've become. Never let the scale measure your happiness. You won't ever be satisfied with how you look until you are satisfied with who you've become inside.

Its so normal for women to gain weight in their 20s because of changes within their bodies and so many of them edit their pictures as if theyre petite teenagers. Your body will look different at 16 than it does at 23, and again at 40. It will feel different too. Uncomfortable sometimes, even foreign, but try your hardest not to resist it. We are not born to be unchanging. Your body will change and grow as you do - let it.
Be kind to the thing that allows you to experience this life, to feel the ocean waves against your skin and the salt in your hair. Be kind to the place that keeps you safe and is always trying to heal what hurts you. There is no greater act of defiance than deciding to love yourself in a world that teaches you not to. There is nothing more freeing than feeling at home in your own skin. 💖 Best of luck on your PCOS journey!!

Yes, I have some tips that might help too!
Most days I am bloated despite the fact that in the morning i have a complete flat stomach. Since I have been like this pretty much my intire life, I have some tips that might help Alisha or anyone else that is currently struggling with bloating
(I have also been tested for gluten allergy etc. I don't have any of that. But if someone has been struggling with bloating for a long time you should get a blood test just in case.)
      So here are the tips:
-Avoid lactose (even if you aren't lactose intolerant) get lactose free milk and yoghurt.
-Don't drink anything else but plain fresh water (also don't use a straw)
-Abs workouts (having toned abs has actually helped me a lot)
      -NOOO SALT
      -Sleep enough :)
      - Being bloated on your period is normal. Just follow these tips and it will not be as bad
These tips sound simple but if you actually try them they are very effective. I can't say anything more specific because everyone is different! You need to learn and understand your own body.

It makes me so so happy to see Alisha being real where she doesn't feel the need to hide these kinds of things, and its crazy how many people can relate to this. I clicked on this video so fast because I feel like I could relate so much, and it feels so good knowing I am not the only one and we are all getting through this together. Stay strong Alisha, and stay strong to anyone going through the same thing!

This video honestly means so much to me, you live in a world where you literally can plan your day out how it best fits you. And to see that you’re being honest with your weight and how life this last year has effected you, truly means a lot to someone who has to live a 7-to-5 job and truly doesn’t have the ability to do the things they want to and only have a short period of time before bed to do it, sometimes it felt like that was my reason but you know that I’m not the only one no matter what proves that it’s deeper than just my ability and the time that I have

+ as someone who's had IBS for7~8 years, I can tell you that it's mostly stomach aches and pains and lots of trips to the bathroom for me. IBS is caused by stress for the most part, and symptoms worsen if you eat lots of flour, greasy foods, or dairy/cold drinks. bloating might be more of a period thing than an IBS thing, but warm water or chamomile tea always worked for me!

hey alisha if it’s really painful and sorta ‘stiff’ to touch it’s definitely bloating! usually i just go about my day as normal, avoid foods that make me bloat easily (dairy for me), and usually after i do my ‘business’ and after a couple good nights of sleep my extreme bloating goes away! as someone who suffers from an ed it’s amazing to see someone I admire so openly talking abt pandemic weight change + bloating, so it’s great knowing everything is completely normal

Omg i’m gonna cry, I have always been pretty skinny and recently (I am about to turn 15) I have gotten like a fair bit bigger tummy, and I was so sad, unmotivated, embarrassed and insecure, I also felt like all my friends always talk about working out and although I do they are just way more skinny than me now when I was the same as them a few years ago, it still makes me really sad but I just wanna thank you so much for posing this video and normalising it became I really needed this. Idk I’m just really sad right now and sorry for rambling I just wanted to tell u peeps how I’m feeling right now. Xx ps. Im 20 and when i was your age i went through the exact same thing, i think most of it is due to puberty as your body grows and changes. Many girls at that age also become obsessed with working out and wanting the “perfect” body. The truth is the perfect body is subjective and you should just do whatever you want to look and feel the way that makes you feel most confident and happy regardless of what everyone else says

This video felt very comforting for me because I'm in the exact same head space as you are. About a year ago, I was in a really good spot with my fitness and I've just fallen off the wagon, but I am so confident like it makes zero sense. I started my fitness journey last year at the beginning of quarantine because I was at the heaviest weight I have ever been at and I felt like crap. I have since lost and kept off my extra quarantine weight but I haven't been back in that really good spot that I was in before and I want to change that and get my shit together again. It feels good knowing I'm not the only one who's feeling this way/in this situation!
