The Disaster of Morecambe''s Mr Blobbyland. 1994. Happy Mount Park. 30 Years Later.

In 1993, Noel's House Party was one of the BBC's most successful shows, with 15 million people tuning in on saturday nights for an hour of 'silliness', headed by Noel Edmonds and sidekick Mr Blobby.
Mr Blobby was an instant success with merchandise sales, a Christmas number one hit single and, eventually, a string of theme parks across the UK.
In 1994, in Happy Mount Park in Morecambe, Crinkley Bottom theme park opened, aka Mr Blobbyland...... only 13 weeks later, it closed permanently!! A financial disaster that took Morecambe years to recover from.....
Here's a quick look at the location today, where no sign of Mr Blobby exists 30 years later.
