Watching this on my Note 8. Its been 2yrs since the day it was released. I bought mine last year, but still this phone is super fast with its luxurious design. And for me, this phone is still able to compete with those new ones on the market today. :)
Another 2 years and mine is still going strong. No issues. Battery life is still amazing. Performance is still on par with most phones on the market. And it has a headphone jack. The s pen is amazing and I utilize it daily. It honestly sucks that the market for these tanked because Samsung ruined the newer generations.
Was looking up the stats and the note 8 ppi is better then almost every phone out now. Super amoled display is still one of the best. 6gb of ram still contends with most devices and I'd argue that you don't need any more than that for any phone.
The phone's size is amazing, it's not heavy for it's size, it's thinner than the 2 other phones on the current market that have s pens. It's only downfall is that they discontinued it.
@@Quantum-they really downgraded the screens on the phones after the note 9 that is a bummer. I used to have a note 8 and that screen had me so spoiled
Now I feel I phone X doesn't worth for the price.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the undisputed heavyweight champion of 2017. Plain and simple the Note 8 is the highest quality device out right now. I seriously doubt the Pixel 2 will even come close to the Note 8's awesome build quality. The only people complaining about the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are the coupon clippers who are still rocking the Moto G3rd Gen.

How do you combat dust on your phone? No matter what I've done, get a liquid screen protector that helps repel dust, get antistatic screen clean spray, use a microfiber cloth for cleaning. I STILL GET DUST. Especially noticeable on a black phone.
Watching this in 2022, I miss the old unboxing experience. Samsung is removing more and more items from the box.

If you are a person who shares lots of things in social media with friends or others then no other phone can do those better and quicker than note 8. Most of the people think S pen only for take down notes and comparing this beast with 8+ or V30 is a big mistake. Doing cut, copy, paste and translating any other language instantly on the same page are never easy like galaxy note series. A pure experience of a smartphone only can give you by Note phones.

Good review, but i think you are being a little nit picky about the finger scan.
Not a criticizing... When you test something. it helps to know the results before broadcasting en-light of of being proven wrong on the spot. Like when you mentioned you don't think it will charge side ways and the camera actually started charging sideways after you placed it on the charger. Just little stuff like that. Again nice vid.

Is the screen brightness increase super noticable? Oddly I am really excited about this brightness increase. I work outside in California so brightness is a big deal.
The only thing that is really better about this phone is the dual camera. Otherwise I feel like they completely half assed this and didn't make it that much better than the S8+. Oh well.
Take a closer look at the very expensive and highest rated display on the market... Is better than the previous version and better than the display on the S8/S8+.

Hello! I have a question. Would the battery of the phone be affected (in a bad way) if you constantly remove the phone while charging it on a wireless charger? Say if you received a text message and you need to reply so you removed the phone from the wireless charger, would it harm the phone's battery?
They could've put that 'camera, flash & fingerprint' module vertically instead of horizontally, that way, it would be in the center & easy to reach.
